We will develop the official program of the Official Practices for the degree of Yacht Skipper in a 48-hour and 220-mile journey, sailing from Valencia to Ibiza, Formentera and Cabo de la Nao, with 2 night crossings and the students will do the day and night navigation guards in pairs.
We will set sail from Valencia heading directly to Ibiza, where we will anchor on the west coast near the Island of Es Vedra. Later, we will resume navigation to Formentera, crossing the Freus, which are some steps that separate the islands of Ibiza and Formentera. We will anchor in the beautiful bay of Isla de Espalmador, which has a difficult entrance.
We will continue the journey towards Cabo de la Nao. We will anchor in the bay of Javea and from there we will put the bow to Valencia.
Each student on board will assume the role of the skipper of the boat, and must think and try to solve all the problems and preparations that are presented to a skipper on a high altitude voyage, with the supervision and instructions of the instructor.
You will review the critical points of the boat and the checklist before setting sail. Calculation of fuel, water and supplies. It will prepare the defeat, checking very well on the courses and on the nautical charts the navigation area, the dangers, the anchorages and the harbors. We will study the weather forecasts to choose the best route and recommended anchorages.
We will see the safety equipment, the use of self-inflating vests, harnesses and lifelines, and we will do a mock abandonment with the life raft.
We will make day and night calls, identifying the dangers and choosing the best anchorage.
