For the BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival the waters off the British Virgin Islands will be filled again with competitors from across the globe coming to the warm waters. The sheer natural beauty of the islands, the pristine crystal waters and consistent trade winds makes this a very special place to race and is one of the Caribbean’s best annual race events.

This week long festival will take you all around the beautiful British Virgin Islands and we will be taking part in both the two day Sailing Festival and the three days of the Regatta itself. Between the Festival and the Regatta will be a lay day to give you the opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings.

This is a great experience that keeps bringing the same faces back each year, proving just how popular it is with the sailing community.

The BVI Spring Regatta follows straight after the St Thomas International Regatta.

  • Plan
    Day 1 - 1st Apr 2024 Arrival & 1st Training Day
Due to the quick turnaround between St Thomas International Regatta and BVI Spring Regatta, we suggest arriving in St Thomas by 10:00 and sailing over to Tortola together. If you cannot join the boat in St Thomas, plan to meet in Tortola at Nanny Cay Marina at 18:30.
Meet your skipper and crew, followed by a safety brief and the regatta programme. You will spend the day getting to know your crew and sailing between St Thomas and Tortola.

    Day 2 - 2nd Apr 2024 Race: Nanny Cup
The first race day will start with the Round the Island of Tortola race for the Nanny Cay Cup, a full day of sailing around 35nm of the main island of the BVI’s followed by awards at the Regatta Village.

    Day 3 - 3rd Apr 2024 Scrub Island Invitational
The second race is the Scrub Island Invitational, an exciting morning race towards the northern end of the islands with a fantastic beach BBQ, pool and live music party hosted at Scrub Island Resort and Marina.

    Day 4 - 4th Apr 2024 Lay Day
On Thursday after a brief check for any issues or required maintenance, you will have a chance to explore the islands, work on the boat practice or just relax on the beach. Live music and a Welcome Party kicks off the 2021 BVI Spring Regatta in style.

    Days 5-7 - 5th-7th Apr 2024 Race Days 3-5
Three days of top racing around the rocks and islands of the BVI’s, followed by nightly entertainment with dancing on the beach and food vendors, who will feature both local and international cuisine. The last day will be finished with the prize giving ceremony and the final party.

As an RYA Instructor Germaine enjoys passing on his experience to others and finding ways of sharing his passion for this sport with as many people as possible. This is what inspired him to create a not for profit organisation that gives people the opportunities that normally allude them. An excellent problem solver

Exceptional, complete, hard and demanding. A challenge that requires the capacity for suffering, the navigation is continuous without respites or stops, guard changes every 4 hours, warm bed. IT IS AN EXPERIENCE TO REPEAT after recovery
