The Royal Ocean Racing Club’s Caribbean 600 is one of the great ‘600 mile’ ocean race challenges.
The race annually attracts a great range of yachts from the latest IRC designs to big classics and schooners, and has grown up to become a ‘must do’ offshore classic.

Its tropical setting might make it more inviting but the Caribbean 600 does not lack its set of challenges with one of the most interesting offshore courses to be found anywhere on the world. This 600 nautical mile race circumnavigates 11 Caribbean Islands starting from English Harbour, Antigua and then heads north as far as St Martin and south to Guadeloupe taking in Barbuda, Nevis, St Kitts, Saba and St Barth’s. This is not one for the fainted hearted.

There are four days training prior to the race included. This time will allow you to get to know your team mates at boat train to give you the best chances to win the race!

We're looking for people with some sailing experience, though we are happy to talk with anyone with a competitive sense of fun and adventure as we believe we'll be able to teach you the ropes, so to speak!

    Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome
Arrival in Antigua and welcome on board at Nelson’s Dockyard Marina, located at English Harbour. Meet your skipper and crew at 10:00. You will spend the day getting to know your crew, followed by organising provisioning, getting the boat ready for the race and potentially a brief training session already.

    Days 2-4 – Training Days
After breakfast you will continue to get the boat and the crew ready for the race and commence with the first training day to make a crew out of all passengers.

Day 5 – Training Day & Welcome Party
The third training day will be followed at 18:30 by the Welcome Party at the Antigua Yacht Club with live music, DJ, food and a bar.

Day 6 – Training Day & Safety Briefing
Today you will be making last enhancements and adjustments to the boat followed by an extensive safety brief before the race and the third training day.

    Day 7 – Race Start
10.50: first warning signal and race start. The start line is taken from Fort Charlotte and the race will get you past 11 Caribbean Islands.

    Day 8-11 – Race & Finish
Typically, and dependent on the weather, it takes about 4 days to get around the course. With a watch system, you will get more experience of what it means to participate in a race and get to see some of the most beautiful sunrises, sunsets and star filled night skys while sharing the excitement and the sense of achievement with your crew members when finally crossing that finish line.

    Day 11 – Prize Giving
Celebrate your efforts with your crew and the other participants with some English Harbour Rum while celebrating the Prize giving and enjoying the final party.

Exceptional, complete, hard and demanding. A challenge that requires the capacity for suffering, the navigation is continuous without respites or stops, guard changes every 4 hours, warm bed. IT IS AN EXPERIENCE TO REPEAT after recovery
