Cancellation and refund policy

1. Crew members

If a crew member is unable to attend a booked activity, they may request the skipper or coordinator to change the reservation holder to a friend, family member, or acquaintance. This change of holder must be accepted by the skipper or activity coordinator.

If the crew member does not know someone to whom to transfer their booking, they may cancel their booking according to the specific conditions published by the Skipper, and in the absence of such specific conditions, under the following general conditions:

Full refund:

- When an activity is not confirmed, that is, when the minimum number of crew members set by the skipper has not been met, the user may cancel their reservation and receive a full refund.

- When the user cancels with the advance notice described below, according to the duration of the activity (The duration of the activity is measured between the time of embarkation and disembarkation of the crew).

* 60 days or more in advance for activities of 72 hours (3 days) or more.
* 40 days or more in advance for activities of 24 hours or more and less than 72 hours (3 days).
* 20 days or more in advance for activities lasting less than 24 hours.

* Between 20 and 39 days in advance for activities of 24 hours or more and less than 72 hours (3 days).
* Between 7 and 19 days in advance for activities lasting less than 24 hours.

Once a seat is cancelled, it will be made available to other users. If the cancelled seat is reserved by another crew member, the original crew member will receive a 100% refund.

They do not offer refunds:

- When the user cancels with the advance notice described below, according to the duration of the activity (The duration of the activity is measured between the time of embarkation and disembarkation of the crew).

* Less than 40 days in advance for activities of 72 hours (3 days) or more.
* Less than 20 days in advance for activities of 24 hours or more and less than 72 hours (3 days).
* Less than 7 days in advance for activities lasting less than 24 hours.

Once a spot is cancelled, it will be made available to other users. The skipper may offer the crew member the option of receiving a 100% refund if the cancelled spot is booked by another crew member.

2. Patrons and Coordinators

If the Skipper or Coordinator wishes to cancel an Activity, they must first contact the Crew Member to inform them of the cancellation and then contact SAILWIZ. The Crew Member will be refunded the full amount. Frequent cancellations of activities may result in the Website reserving the right to penalize the Skipper or Coordinator's activities in search results and even terminate their account.

3. Payments to the Employer in the event that the Crew Member cancels an Activity:

When a crew member cancels a booking, the skipper will charge according to the following conditions:

0% Payment:

- When an activity is not confirmed, that is, when the minimum number of crew members set by the skipper has not been met, the crew member can cancel their reservation and receive a full refund, and the skipper will not receive any payment.

50% Payment:

In the event that the cancelled seat is reserved by another crew member, the skipper will not receive any payment for the cancelled seat.

4. Cancellations due to inclement weather, force majeure and other causes.

The Patrons or Coordinators are responsible for determining whether weather conditions or other causes allow or not the activity to be carried out.

If the activity must be cancelled entirely due to inclement weather, force majeure, or other reasons, the skipper or coordinator and crew member must agree on an alternative date. If this is not possible, SAILWIZ will refund the crew member the full cost of the activity.

5. Expenses incurred due to cancellations and/or modifications of reservations and/or activities

SAILWIZ is not responsible in any case for expenses caused by modifications and cancellations of reservations and/or activities, such as hotel reservations or other accommodations, transportation expenses or others, whether these are due to cancellations caused by force majeure, cancellations made by the employers or coordinators or for any other reason.

The crew member will be responsible for any expenses or other damages arising from cancellations of any activity listed on SAIWLIZ, unless otherwise specified by the skipper or coordinator in the activity's terms and conditions. Travel insurance, cancellation insurance, or rates that allow for changes are strongly recommended, especially for activities that may be modified or canceled due to weather conditions or other reasons, which is likely given the nature of the activities listed on Sailwiz.
