Yachtmaster Offshore Sail Practical and Exam

The Yachtmaster Sail Practical and Exam is 7 challenging days on board a sailing yacht for either the Offshore or Coastal certification. A certified instructor will take you out to sea to prepare you for advanced navigation and practical skippering of a boat of at least 7m (23ft). The course reviews all aspects of the RYA Theory syllabus with a focus on boat handling under sail and power and in confined spaces, navigation and pilotage techniques in daylight, at night and in reduced visibility as well as coping with emergencies and adverse weather conditions.

On this 7 day course, each day will be different. There is no fixed schedule, but throughout the duration of the Yachtmaster course, we will cover the following topics:

In order to take this course there are some requirements:
- Required Sea-time
- 50 days - 2,500 nautical miles including at least 5
- passages over 60 miles
- Acting as skipper for at least 2 of these passages
- 2 overnight passages
- 5 days experience as skipper
- ENG 1 (Professional Only)
- STCW-10 (Professional Only)
- Basic First Aid Certificate (Recreational Only)
- SRC/VHF Certification
- Minimum age 18

Course Duration: 7 days (includes 2 Exam Days)

This course requires a minimum of 3 students.
