    Se trata de un curso requerido a todo el personal que realice labores profesionales a bordo de embarcaciones y buques. El alumno adquiere los conocimientos básicos sobre seguridad y emergencias a bordo.
  • ¿Dónde puedo hacer la formación básica en seguridad marítima?
    Los cursos de Formación Básica en Seguridad Marítima deben hacerse en centros homologados por la Dirección General de la Marina Mercante.
  • ⌚ ¿Cuánto dura el curso? ¿Puedo faltar algunas horas?
    El curso consta de 45 horas de teoría y 25 horas de prácticas. La asistencia es obligatoria y no es posible obtener el certificado si el alumno se ausenta. Solo se admite un 10% de ausencia a las horas de teoría.
  • ➡️ ¿Qué salidas profesionales tiene?
    Este curso se requiere a cualquier persona que trabaje en el mar, ya sea buques mercantes, centros de buceo, náutica de recreo o un cruceros turísticos.
  • ⚡ ¿Es necesario renovar el curso?
    No es necesario si se acreditan 3 meses de embarque en el último año o un año de embarque en los últimos 5 años, al renovarlo, antes de la fecha de caducidad, en capitanía marítima.
  • ✍ ¿Puedo renovar el certificado si me caduca?
    Si te caduca el certificado de Formación Básica en Seguridad Marítima (tiene validez 5 años), puedes renovarlo realizando un curso de actualización de 16 horas de duración.

  • What is the Basic Maritime Safety Training course?

    • Professional patterns of pleasure boats (Instructors, ship transfers, charter patterns).
    • Nautical graduates who want to enable their titles to practice as a patron in tourist or recreational fishing trips.
    • Mariners of ports, clubs or marinas.
    • Helpers of jet ski monitors, diving clubs, nautical activities ...

    In general, any person who performs any work on board a vessel or vessel must be in possession of this certificate.
  • How old is this certificate?

    The certificate of Basic Training in Maritime Safety is valid for 5 years from its obtaining. After that time it is necessary to complete an update course to keep it current.
  • How long is the Basic Maritime Safety Training course and what is its content?
    The Basic Maritime Safety Training course has a total duration of 70 hours, of which 45 hours will be from a face-to-face theory course and 25 hours of practice. The structure of this course is as follows:
    • Survival module at sea in case of abandonment of the ship.
    • Fire prevention and fire fighting module.
    • Module on adoption of minimum competition rules in first aid.
    • Work safety and social responsibilities' module.

    The course must be carried out in person, since there is no possibility of doing this course remotely or online.
  • I have the title of Recreational Vessel Patron (PER), Yacht Patron or Yacht Captain and I want to obtain this certificate to do some paid work, what can I do?
    As of July 1, 2019, holders of a nautical recreational qualification are authorized to perform certain services on board pleasure boats.

    Holders of the Recreational Vessel, Yacht Patron and Yacht Captain who obtain the certificate of basic maritime safety training may perform the following functions:
    • Perform maneuvers and transfers of pleasure boats in ports, beaches or between ports provided that navigation is not performed at a distance greater than 5 miles from the point of departure.
    • Provide transportation services of supplies to other pleasure boats.
    • Perform sea tests of pleasure boats and jet skis.
    • Government of boats destined for lifeguard on beaches.

    In addition, holders of the Yacht Skipper and Yacht Captain titles, with the same certificate, may also:
    • Take tourist and recreational fishing trips, up to a maximum distance of five miles from the coast.

    In addition to obtaining the certificate of basic training in maritime safety, the holders of the nautical titles must have carried out the sailing qualification practices and in the case of Recreational Boat Patterns (PER), they will have to prove that they have done the practices of extension of powers of PER, which enables them to govern vessels of up to 24 meters in length.
