After a winter of basking in the Caribbean sunshine, we will be leaving Tortola (BVIs) to sail home to Amsterdam. We can perhaps visit Jamaica, Cuba and/or Bermuda as well.

This trip is for 45 days of exhilarating sailing, where you will become part of the crew, joining in with the watch system as you cross the Atlantic Ocean to Holland.

We will sail continuously, only stopping off for a break in the middle of the crossing, in the Azores. Situated in the Atlantic, these islands provide the perfect stopover. We restock the boat and rebalance our sea legs, before embarking on the last leg of our journey.

We have our very own onboard chef who will provide you with a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner whatever the weather and all included in your ticket price!

This passage is a great opportunity for those that want more time at sea, to improve their sailing skills on a Tallship and be part of a knowledgeable crew who love to share their wisdom and tales.

We have limited adult tickets available, all other berths will be taken by our gap year program for young people.

A journey for the ones who dare to take a challenge! This expedition has everything: sun, islands, blue water, palm trees, different cultures, rain, no wind, a lot of wind, swimming suits, waterproof clothes, being far from home and exploring home from a different perspective.

Tortola (British Virgin Islands) is where we will start the expedition. From then on you will be exploring some beautiful Caribbean islands. We visit Jamaica, Cuba or maybe even Bermuda, before we start setting sail for the Azores.

When the wind is right, we make the last crossing from the Azores to the European coasts. When there is time we will also explore the seaside of France, England or Belgium. At the very end, we go through the locks of IJmuiden to end the expedition in Amsterdam.

Boat details

Originally built with a wooden hull in 1902, her original purpose was to transport fish between fishing boats and back to the harbour. To ensure the fish remained fresh, the ship was built and rigged for speed.

During her working life, she was refitted with a steel hull and after several other owners, she was transformed in 1998 into a luxury passenger vessel. Renovated again in 2012, she was updated with all new safety features/equipment and all the modern comforts you could possibly want from a charter vessel.

With her graceful design and sailing lines, the ship is still very fast, and reliable, and is truly comfortable under full sail. Her build and modern rigging system, allows her to perform excellently both on the Ijsselmeer, Baltic Sea and out on the Atlantic ocean, with most of her time spent in the North & Baltic Sea when she isn’t making the voyage down to the Canary Islands or around the Caribbean.

Whether at the helm, on deck or in the cosy wheelhouse, the vessel is much loved by all her guests
- accommodation of 2 and 3 berth cabins makes her a perfect ship for families too.
