Our cruise begins at the Eden Island Marina. This new and modern marina is nestled between Eden Island and Mahe. Eden Island is a super-modern development with apartments, a shopping mall, shops, a supermarket, and a variety of bars and restaurants.
After loading the boat and doing our shopping, we set off. First, we'll explore the main island of Mahe. South of Pointe Matoopa lies Port Launay, a quiet and beautiful anchorage. From here, the offshore islands of Ile Conception and Ile Therese are just a stone's throw away.
On the second island, a paradisiacal island idyll awaits us with a stunning beach and an offshore reef for snorkeling. From here, a detour to the neighboring island of Silhouette is also possible. Afterwards, we continue to Praslin.
The Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve is a botanical garden world-famous for its Coco de Mer palms and its immense biodiversity, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Praslin also boasts world-class beaches. For example, Anse Lazio has been voted the most beautiful beach in the world by a majority of surveys.
The island of La Digue is slightly smaller than Praslin and has retained much of its original character. There are hardly any cars here, and many things are still transported by oxcart. The main attraction is the beach "Anse Source d'Argent." The gigantic rocky backdrop, combined with the white, fine sand beach lapped by turquoise waters, has been featured in several commercials and Hollywood movies.
Praslin and La Digue are just 5 nautical miles apart. In the immediate vicinity of these two islands are many small, mostly uninhabited islands, which also invite you to stop for a day. Most of them are part of the Marine Park. From here, you can take countless excursions by catamaran, such as a visit to the bird island of Aride and much, much more. Everything is quite close together, so there are no long distances to cover.
In recent years, a trip to Bird Island, located on the outer northern edge of the inner Seychelles plateau, has become an absolute highlight for everyone. Unlike most other Seychelles islands, the island is a flat coral island. Millions of seabirds live here, and the island, with its powder-sugar beaches, is a natural and bird paradise. Esmeralda, the oldest and largest tortoise in the Seychelles, also lives here, roaming freely with her companions.
The island is home to a small bungalow resort, owned and operated by a long-established Seychellois family. We have a long-standing, trusting relationship with the owners, and our crews are always warmly welcomed. This gives us the privilege of being able to move freely around this beautiful island. The small lobby offers the island's Wi-Fi, showers, a bar, and a restaurant.
The climate in the Seychelles is tropical with high humidity. Temperatures fluctuate little. Overall, the weather is quite pleasant throughout the year—not too hot, not too cold. There's always a light breeze. The main islands lie outside the cyclone belt, so they are almost never affected by storms.
When tropical rain falls more frequently in January and February, the sun can once again shine on the opposite side of the island. From May to October, the wind usually blows from the southeast, bringing drier and cooler air.
From December to March, during the southern hemisphere summer, the air brought by the prevailing northwest monsoon is somewhat more humid.

On our Seychelles cruise, we'll be sailing a modern, recently built Lagoon 42 cruising catamaran with a watermaker. The catamaran is fully equipped for navigation and safety. It's known for its excellent sailing characteristics and offers plenty of space.
Thanks to the shallow draft and the equipment, you can spend several days anchoring in anchorages and enjoying life. Up to eight guests have plenty of space, divided into four double berths, each with a private head. A watermaker is available.
