Catamaran offshore sailing leg: Mallorca

Catamaran sailing - crossing - deep sea sailing from Tenerife, across the Atlantic, through the Mediterranean, to Crete (Greece):
In spring 2026, the Lagoon 42 will sail from Tenerife to Crete, a six-week journey via La Gomera, La Palma, Madeira, Gibraltar, Mallorca, and Sardinia to Crete. A sailing trip for discerning sailors, but also for those seeking a sailing license who need to gain nautical miles.
They'll learn to sail a catamaran, hoist and reef the sails independently, and take night watches. Weather and schedule permitting, guests will receive a mini-catamaran training session: a short lesson to learn how to maneuver with both engines.

Plan

We start from the Marina La Lonja, directly above the main road to the Cathedral of Palma de Mallorca.
We'll try to go shopping on Saturday morning. The shops in Spain might be closed by Saturday afternoon.

We're setting sail Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. We'll see what the weather forecast is. We might anchor off the south coast of Mallorca the first night and have a barbecue on board.

The crossing to Sardinia takes approximately 2.5 days, including two night crossings. We'll decide together whether we head for Carlo Forte or directly to the southern tip of Sardinia.
In total we sailed about 340 nautical miles.

The beaches from the southern tip of Sardinia to Cagliari are very beautiful. We can certainly anchor there.

Our base for summer 2024 is the Portus Karalis Marina in the center of Cagliari. The airport is only 10 km away. We can arrange a taxi, or you can take the train to the airport for €1.30.

Other information

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english and german)

The on-board cash box is used to pay for food for the crew - skipper and overnight stays in 1 - 2 marinas.
Owner and skipper pay the fuel costs.
For this, participants put between 200 and 250 euros into the on-board cash box. The on-board cash box is managed by one of the participants. On Friday evening we will certainly go out for a nice meal in the city center of Palma de Mallorca.

Welcome to the catamaran Lagoon 42. The new generation of catamarans has even more comfort and is even better and easier to drive for charter customers. With the rig offset sternwards and the narrow mainsail, the Lagoon is easier to turn and when turning, the self-tacking jib automatically runs over a traveller rail to the new leeward side. Even when there is little wind, the 126 m² Wingaker headsail provides a lot of performance and can be sailed from downwind to upwind.
