DAY 1. Saturday: Chang Island — Wai Island.
We will meet at 11:00am at the cozy marina of Ao Salak Phet, located in the southeastern part of Chang Island. There we will begin this adventure*.
We will load the bags, place the shopping and set sail as soon as everything is ready.
The first stop will be the small uninhabited island of Khlum, ideal for a first swim. Then we will continue to Wai Island, where we will spend the night at anchor.
* Although the boat trip starts this day, the night before (Friday) we will stay at a resort on the island to get to know each other and start talking about the trip.
DAY 2. Sunday: Wai Island — Rang Island.
We will wake up in this paradisiacal corner and, after breakfast and a morning bath, we will head south to sail to Rang Island, one of the best diving spots in the entire archipelago.
At the southeastern end of the island there is a phallic sanctuary where local fishermen come to ask for protection and good fishing. Perhaps we too can leave an offering to attract favorable winds from the god Aeolus.
We will sleep anchored on this secluded and quiet island.
DAY 3. Monday: Rang Island — Kood Island.
Early in the morning we will sail southeast until we reach Kood Island, one of the largest on the itinerary (together with Chang). We will spend the morning in the north, in Soneva Kiri Bay, home to an exclusive resort, while we enjoy true luxury: anchoring in its transparent waters.
Later, we will head in front of Captain Hook Bay, a beautiful enclave where we will spend the night. Before dinner, we will go up a small river with the auxiliary and those who want to can walk to the Khlong Yai Kee waterfalls.
Tonight we can have dinner at a restaurant next to the river.
DAY 4. Tuesday: Kood Island.
After waking up, we will sail to the southeast of the island, an area full of crystal clear beaches, such as those of Khlong Chao.
In the afternoon, we can take another river excursion and visit the Khlong Chao waterfall.
We will spend the night in a nearby cove.
DAY 5. Wednesday: Kood Island — Mak Island.
We will continue south and skirt the island until we reach Ao Phrao, where we will anchor to enjoy a swim in its turquoise waters.
Then we will go up the east coast, crossing the so-called pirate bay —although it is said that there are no pirates left—, where there is a picturesque town of floating houses.
Finally we will sail to the island of Mak, where we will spend the night.
DAY 6. Thursday: Mak Island — Mak Si Lek Island.
Unlike most of the islands in the archipelago, Ko Mak is practically flat, making it a perfect place for cycling. It has several marked “Eco Trails” that allow you to cross rubber plantations and coconut trees.
This island has a very quiet environment that is different from the rest, so we will spend part of the day discovering it calmly.
In the afternoon we will sail to the tiny island of Mak Si Lek, where we will spend the night in a small, sheltered bay.
DAY 7. Friday: Mak Si Lek Island — Ngam Island.
Today will be relaxed, ideal for taking advantage of the sea and snorkeling.
We will visit the island of Mak Si Lai and then continue to the nearby island of Ngam, a Natural Park and a perfect place for our last night on board.
DAY 8. Saturday: Ngam Island — Chang Island.
On our last day, we only have a short navigation of about an hour left to return to the starting point.
We must arrive at the port at 9:00 in the morning.
We'll say goodbye to the ship and, whoever wishes, can continue exploring Thailand or travel to nearby destinations.
