The last course of the General Cycle, which takes place at the San Juan Reservoir, aims to complete the preparation of the crew member who already has good knowledge of cruise management, preparing him to take over as the patron of such a vessel. The student will finish the day with the knowledge of the necessary tools for route planning and for its execution to the cane in coordination with the rig.

In the beginning we will see how the employer distributes the different roles on board, and then we will present the problems that defeat planning will pose and the elements that will help us choose the most convenient one. Then, with a practical case, we will define a route and go out to the water to execute it, taking full advantage of the boat with techniques of handling the rod in different directions and situations, coordinating with the rest of the crew.

The boat
Day cruise based on the San Juan Reservoir. It is an ideal boat for teaching due to its capacity and nobility of reactions, and for regattas in protected waters since its design, derived from the j80, makes it a fast and ventolinero boat. It is equipped with a spinaker maneuver, which gives it a good disposition for regattas.

Meet Luis, the skipper

Yacht captain and PPER with extensive experience in crossings and regattas. I enjoy sailing in almost any situation, relaxed on vacation or competitive of regattas. I do not care about the bad weather or sleep little or anywhere but I detest the problems of coexistence on board.

Highly recommended experience. Queco was a very good teacher, pedagogue and very patient as well as being very sympathetic.

After a more detailed explanation (perhaps the time we were in the classroom could be reduced and part of the "agenda" to see it directly on the boat) of the documentation that had been sent to us a couple of days before by email (this gave us time to read it and that everything sounded to us), we went to the boat to practice what we had seen theoretically.

Good atmosphere generated by the instructor (Queco), who explained each maneuver to be carried out in a simple and enjoyable way, and why. Very well also with the rest of the participants.

A pity that there was little wind and we were wanting more.

A good experience that I will certainly repeat!
