The title of PER - Recreational Craft Pattern allows the government of motorized pleasure boats of up to 15 meters in length, with the appropriate engine power to it, for navigation between the coast and the 12-mile parallel line to it, as well as inter-island navigation in the Balearic and Canary archipelagos.

In addition, it empowers the government of nautical motorcycles within the specific navigation limits applicable to them, according to their technical characteristics.

For the government of pleasure craft sailing up to 15 meters in length, it will be necessary to perform sailing practices.
Optionally, the attributions of the title to government of pleasure boats of up to 24 meters in length may be increased, also allowing the navigation made between the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, carrying out extension practices.

Requirements:
Minimum age: 18 years.
Pass the theoretical exam.
Safety and Navigation Practices (mandatory) of 16 hours.
Short Range Radio Operator Course (mandatory) of 12 hours.
Long Range Radio Operator Course (optional) of 16 hours.
Sailing Practices (optional) of 16 hours.
Extension Practices (optional) of 24 hours.
Overcome a psychotechnical recognition.

THEORY OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE:

1.- NAUTICAL NOMENCLATURE: Hull Denominations, Structure, Anchoring Equipment, Rudder, Helix, Dimensions and Terminology.
2.- MOORING AND ANCHORING ELEMENTS: Mooring elements, knots and anchoring.
3.-SECURITY AT SEA: Stability, Checks before going to sea, Socks on board in bad weather, Electrical thunderstorms, Low visibility, Shallow waters, Safety equipment, Man overboard, Towing and Maritime Rescue.
4.- LEGISLATION: Rules that affect pleasure craft, limitations on navigation, divers and bathers, pollution prevention, National Pavilion, Salvage and Protection of natural spaces.
5.- BALLIZATION: IALA regulations.
6.- INTERNATIONAL REGULATION TO PREVENT ABORDAJES IN THE SEA.
7.- MANEUVER AND NAVIGATION: Mooring, Government with rod or wheel, Maneuvers.
8.- EMERGENCIES AT SEA: Personal accidents, involuntary stranded, boarding, waterways and flooding, fire prevention and explosions and abandonment of the vessel.
9.- METEOROLOGY: Importance of weather in the safety of navigation, atmospheric pressure, temperature, squalls and anticyclones, wind, coastal breezes, Fecht.
10.- NAVIGATION THEORY: Earth Sphere, Mercatorian Cards, Nautical Publications, Distance and Speed Unit, Magnetic Declination, Nautical Needle, Total Correction, Directions, Position Lines, Marking, Navigation Aids, Tides, Wind and Current ( single concept).
11.- NAVIGATION LETTER: Coordinates, Distances and Directions, Total correction, True and Needle bearing, Situation due to real delays and Markings, Tides.

PROGRAM OF BASIC SAFETY AND NAVIGATION PRACTICES
PATRON OF RECREATIONAL VESSELS PER

DURATION: 16 HOURS IN BOAT.


1.- SECURITY AND CHECKS BEFORE LEAVING THE SEA:

- Security Material: Life jackets, pyrotechnics, lifebuoy, fog horn and heliograph. Bilge pumps. First aid kit on board
- Checks before leaving to the sea: critical points of the boat, fuel, water and accoutrements. Batteries Documentation on board.


2.- PLANNING OF THE DEFEAT AND FIGHT AGAINST AIDS:

- Planning the Defeat: Weather forecast and state of the sea, tides; twelfth rule. Checking the chart of the area to be navigated, shallow waters. Prevention of dizziness and importance of correct stowage.
- Fire Fighting: Fuel of the boat, use of flames and lighters on board, accumulation of rags, grease, fuel. Gas detector. Fire extinguishers, their location and operation. Fire extinguishing types, fire in cabin and on deck.

3.- MOTORS AND ELECTRICAL INTALATION:

- Engines: Check opening of the sea inlets. Levels of oil, coolant. Fuel filter and decanter. Salt water filter. Consumption and engine speed. Calculation of navigable distance based on fuel, and sea state. Fuel reserve. Outboard, peculiarities and deadlock. Heating alarms. Check cooling pump.
- Electrical installation: Batteries, types and maintenance. Prevention of humidity. Distribution panel. The alternator. Battery charger. Battery discrimination. Consumption on board and types of current on board. Solar plates, wind generators.

4.- MAINTENANCE OF THE BOAT. PREVENTION OF POLLUTION AND CABUYERIA:

- Maintenance of the boat and prevention of contamination: Vessel materials, GRP; breaks, osmosis and cover with gel coat. Iron; rust and galvanic corrosion. Alumino; galvanic corrosion. Wood; painted, caulked. Anti-fouling paints. Anodes Government state of the vessel. Sewage retention facility, obligation to declare delivery of oily waste. Garbage and its treatment.
