Sailing holidays in the Seychelles transport us to the Garden of Eden. This paradise of islands offers endless white sandy beaches, each one even more beautiful than the last. We will walk through the tropical rainforests and dive in the coral reefs with the sea turtles. The conveniently small distance between our mooring spots gives us more time to explore, relax, and practice our sailing skills. The most beautiful palm trees in the world, Coco De Mer, are seen everywhere and their nuts that fall weigh up to 20 kg! A great amount of work is done to preserve this magnificent place and we can visit the many marine parks, biodiversity zones and nature reserves that have been established for this purpose.

This experience is extremely laid back and flexible so you can spend your days how you choose. Mix time sailing with snorkelling, basking in the sun and exploring the less populated parts of the area before heading into town for a nice meal of local food. On this trip you will find that the skipper and the new people joining you on board love traveling and going on new adventures just as much as you do! The itinerary is not fixed and the plans are made according to the weather and winds just like real sailors should do!

This trip is unique because the skippers have a great focus on sustainable travel. We will limit plastics on board and collect plastic garbage as well as encourage the group to immerse themselves in the new cultures of these amazing places. Join us on an adventure where you will connect with nature and act like a local, respecting the Earth and the natives at each new spot we anchor. This wonderful experience will open your eyes to new cultures and you will leave it with new friends as well as a new outlook on travel.

Plan
Departure will be on the first day at 16:00 at the Eden Island Marina. You will return to the same place on the final day around 9:00.

LEARN TO SAIL
During this week, you will also learn to sail. We have developed a program from the Royal Yachting Association: RYA Competent Crew so you can learn by practicing!

The plan for the week is as follows:

MAHE, EDEN ISLAND MARINA
Eden Island Marina in the capital of Seychelles, Victoria, is our starting point. It is the biggest city in the archipelago with a population of 60,000.

We will meet the people we are going to sail with and get food for the trip at nearby markets. At night we can go for a stroll to admire the local crafts and end by eating together at one of the wonderful restaurants.

THERESA ISLAND:
For our first day sailing we will see some of the northern part of Mahe island where the hills, palm trees, white beaches and villages delight the eye. With this beautiful view we will stop for lunch.

The blue water invites you to jump in and snorkel to discover what lie below the surface. We will arrive to Theresa Island a few hours later to anchor and rest until the next day. The island is uninhabited! As the stars appear in the sky, we realize that this is the paradise we have dreamed of… and it’s just the beginning.

SUNSET IN ANSE SOLEIL BAY:
What do you think is the best part of anchoring off an idyllic beach? Mornings where the tropical birds are your alarm, where you can sit on deck with a hot cup of coffee or dive straight into the sea to start your day. After breakfast, we pull up the anchor and sail south along the shore, getting a chance to learn from our patient skipper.

The evening includes anchoring in Lazare Bay with its great beaches and palms, a short hike on shore to Anse Soleil Bay, and a lovely meal at a restaurant on the beach while the sun goes down.

LA DIGUE ISLAND:
We will do a slightly longer sail to get from Mahe to La Digue. It is a great time to practice sailing maneuvers with the steady breeze. Tropical forest covers nearly the entire island and we will anchor in the small village of La Passe to spend the rest of the day exploring and admiring the architecture or strolling along the fantastical beaches.

La Digue has a great national monument which is a giant granite boulder formed about 750 million years ago. With an enjoyable 20 minute walk on the beach, you can view this spectacular natural sculpture. The rest of the evening is for checking out the town and local bars.

DIVING IN SEYCHELLES:
The Seychelles is one of the best places in the world for diving. On this trip you can do a half day of diving with a course taught by professional instructors to introduce you to the basics and prepare you for going underwater. While diving here, you can expect to see mantas, sea turtles and exotic tropical fish. Maybe you’ll get lucky and spot a Whale Shark!

THE SISTERS:
It is not a great distance from La Digue to The Sisters so you will have time to practice your sailing skills and learn more about skippering sailboats. We will likely stop for lunch at a secluded beach where we can drop anchor. The beauty of this island makes up for its small size. On The Sisters, we will find palm trees, granite boulders, pale sand, and everything else we love about the Seychelles.

And the adventures don’t stop there! We will sail to COCO ISLAND to snorkel, PRASLIN ISLAND for a hike and CURIEUSE ISLAND with its beautiful rainforest. Lastly, we will sail to quiet SILHOUETTE ISLAND where the beaches are nearly deserted for a peaceful end to the amazing trip.

FOOD STOPS:
Every day our objective is to stop in bays for a quick lunch with time to snorkel.

We will drop anchor and enjoy the beauty of the nature that surrounds us, eating what we have cooked on board.

REGATTA:
We always have a regatta prepared for the last day of our sailing holidays in the Caribbean.

You get to put your new sailing skills to work and take control of the boat. The skippers take a step back and the team has a great time, of course winning in the end!

I usually fly solo when traveling, and it never occurred to me to sign up for a package tour. But I took a gamble here and they exceeded my expectations. They have somehow figured out how to get adults to buy into a sincere spirit of group adventure and camaraderie without it ever feeling forced. And obviously, the locations are beautiful, the other people are engaging, the sailing is fun (you'll grow in confidence throughout the week), and it's clear that the Dominick and his team really care about the experience they are creating. You can easily do this trip alone, with friends, or with your significant other. I'm sure I'll sail with them again.

Stop thinking about sailing with them... and just book it. You’ll love it!
Your fellow crew members are a wonderful bunch – and we had the most laid-back skipper ever to roam the Med. The scenery is amazing and varied: you’ll moor-up in a port one night amongst super-yachts then drop anchor the following night in a nearly-deserted bay. You’ll learn so much if you’ve never sailed before, but it’s all really relaxed.
I’m so glad I took the plunge – you will be too.
Maybe see you out there one day soon...

Badly organized trip, old boat not prepared with equipment for the entire crew and unprofessional skipper (untrustworthy, drinking durin the sailing, etc.).
It could have been an excellent week, it's a pity.
