SINGLE OR GROUP BOARDINGS

This year, we've decided to sail in early June in the fabulous sea of northern Sardinia, the Maddalena Archipelago, and southern Corsica. We'll most likely also stop to visit Bonifacio, with its beautiful fjord and a few other nearby bays.

We'll be on two sailing catamarans, sailing together among the countless inlets of the various islands we'll encounter in the archipelago (Caprera – Maddalena – Budelli – Spargi – Razzoli – Santa Maria), within marine oases where we'll sail under full sail, lulled by the waves, and then anchor to rest and take unforgettable swims in an utterly beautiful turquoise sea. We'll also visit the islands of Lavezzi (with sunset at Cala Lazzarina) and Cavallo, part of southern Corsica. Perhaps even a trip to Porto Vecchio and Santa Giulia.
The Maddalena Archipelago was declared a National Park in 1994 and is certainly one of the most beautiful and unspoiled areas of Sardinia.

DEPARTURE DATE: 05/30/2026 at 5:00 PM
ARRIVAL DATE: 06/06/2026 at 09:00
DURATION: 7 NIGHTS / 8 DAYS

• 2 BALI 4.1 sailing catamarans - (4 double cabins + 4 bathrooms + 2 Skipper cabins) 8+2 - Length 12.35 m - electric bathrooms - WATERMAKER - Year of registration 2020
BOARDING: Single cabins. Skipper only, no hostess.

Cannigione, where we'll set sail, is one of the tourist ports facing the Maddalena archipelago. It's just four miles from Caprera, the archipelago's first island. These eight islands (Caprera, Maddalena, Spargi, Budelli, Razzoli, Santa Maria, Lavezzi, and Cavallo) have a unique charm that makes them one of the most beautiful archipelagos in the Mediterranean.
The archipelago's numerous beaches and coves are renowned for their crystal-clear waters and are popular with tourists from around the world. Cala Corsara is considered one of the most beautiful: located on the island of Spargi, it features a fine white sand and crystal-clear sea. Spiaggia Rosa (Pink Beach), on the island of Budelli, is undoubtedly the most captivating: it takes its name from the distinctive pink color of the sand, caused by the crumbling shells of small marine animals.
The experience of sleeping at anchor, lulled by the waves in the countless sheltered bays, will be unforgettable, where the only deafening sound will be the silence and the lights and chaos of everyday life will be but a memory. The wonder of a sunset aperitif, the wonder of being carried by the wind, and the pure, intense pleasure of sailing await you.

These are the islands we'll encounter along our route. We'll see some, and others we won't. It may be possible to visit Bonifacio and the island of Piana (Corsica), including the nearby coves. The sailing area will be between northern Sardinia and southern Corsica. The itinerary will be highly dependent on the weather.

    ISLAND OF CAPRERA
It is the easternmost of the archipelago, moderately elevated (the highest point in the center is 212 m) and sparsely vegetated. On the western side, a bridge connects it to the island of La Maddalena. Shoals and islets dot its coasts. The northeastern part of the Santo Stefano bay is dotted with rocks. Much of the island is a nature reserve, making it a popular destination for excursions. After the unification of Italy and the turbulent events in South America, Garibaldi spent the last years of his life on Caprera. His tomb and his South American-style house, which his daughter continued to inhabit after his death in 1882, can be visited. Among the most famous and beautiful bays are: Cala Portese – Porto Palma – Cala Coticcio – Porto Garibaldi.

    LA MADDALENA ISLAND
It is the largest of the archipelago and the only one with a residential center. Although mostly rocky, the island is partially cultivated, and scattered patches of greenery stand out against the barren granite landscape. The hills rise in the southwestern (153 m) and northern (84 m) parts. Its coastal perimeter, very jagged and full of protected anchorages, is dotted with rocks that require careful navigation close to the coast. La Maddalena is the ideal port of call for visiting the archipelago. With the two adjacent islands, it offers beautiful anchorages, enough to fill an intense week of exploration; those wishing to discover every corner will have to stay about a month. The town is bustling with activity and is the base for the nearby Italian Navy naval base and for the old NATO base on the island of Santo Stefano. The American base has contributed significantly to the prosperity of La Maddalena, which still maintains its original appearance almost intact. In summer, there is a massive influx of tourists from mainland hotels who come to visit the island for a day. Among the most famous bays with unique seas are: Cala Francese – Cala Spalmatore – Cala Stagno Torto

    SPARGI ISLAND
It is the westernmost of the group, just under a mile west of La Maddalena and just over a mile north of Punta Diego on Sardinia. The island is rocky and moderately elevated (155 meters at its highest point). The southern end is faced by the Corsara reef. Northwest of Spargi lies Isolotto Spargiotto, whose surrounding waters fall within Special Protection Area A and are therefore inaccessible. Spargi offers three anchorage points: Cala D'alga – Cala Corsara (the most famous, with its own beach) – Cala Ferrigno.

    SANTA MARIA ISLAND
It is located immediately east of Razzoli, separated from it by the Asinelli Pass. North of Santa Maria lies Isolotto la Presa, with shallows facing it for a short stretch to the north. The island features two coves, each sheltered by the wind and sea, with turquoise waters reminiscent of an open-air swimming pool. Cala Muro, located on the northwest tip beneath the islet of La Presa, offers anchoring only at buoys. Cala Santa Maria, located along the southeast side of the island, offers anchoring in 3/4 meters on a sandy seabed. The cove is nestled in a spectacular rocky area, bordered by a beautiful sandy beach.

    BUDELLI ISLAND
It lies south of Razzoli and southwest of Santa Maria, separated from it by Passo Cecca di Morto, so-called for the low, rocky passage near Budelli. Around Budelli, the sea has unique colors. The most famous bays are: Cala Sud and Cala Nord. Clearly, the pink beach is number one, which falls within a protected area with special regulations for the environmental protection of this area.

    RAZZOLI ISLAND
It is the northwesternmost of the group, low-lying, barren, and uninhabited. Razzoli Island is the most northerly and is striking for its majestic cliffs and the shapes of its rocks, reminiscent of Moore sculptures. The most famous cove is Cala Lunga. The beach is located in a cove on the southern side of Razzoli Island and is characterized by fine, white sand and crystal-clear water. The landscape surrounding the beach is primarily composed of granite rocks and Mediterranean scrub. The beach is accessible only by sea, and this will be no problem.

    LAVEZZI ISLAND (Corsica)
Lavezzi is a small jewel of nature and sea.
It is part of the Strait of Bonifacio Nature Reserve, a vast protected area between Corsica and Sardinia.
There are several coves scattered around the island. The most famous is Cala Lazzarina. Spending a night in the bay is fabulous and unique, and the sunset is unforgettable.

PS The itinerary may change at any time at the captain's discretion, particularly due to adverse weather conditions.

EMBARKATION/DISEMBLY BASE: The crews' embarkation base will be the Marina di Cannigione. It is essential that all participants arrive at Olbia Airport in the morning or early afternoon. The airport is 30 km from the embarkation base. However, if desired, a group could arrive by car and ferry and park directly at the port. We will arrange transfers for those arriving at approximately the same times. Alternatively, there are also scheduled buses.
We'll try to set sail immediately on Saturday afternoon, but it's uncertain whether we'll be able to do so, after we've stocked up on provisions to reach the anchorage for our first swim of our Mediterranean summer vacation. A stunning sea awaits us, one of the most beautiful in the world, comparable to the distant South Pacific. Before dark, we'll toast to summer.

BOARDING: Saturday 30 May 2026, around 5:00 pm or even earlier, at Marina di Cannigione, it will all depend on the preparation of the boats.
LANDING: Saturday 6 June 2026, early in the morning, before 9:00 am, at the Cannigione marina.

FLIGHT: The flight is free and not organized – YOU HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT YOURSELF

HOW TO GET THERE: For information on connections to Olbia Airport, please ask us. You can purchase your ticket yourself or through our partner agency if you need assistance. You can also take the ferry and arrive in your own car.

Meet Giuseppe, the skipper
Verified professional skipper At Sailwiz since 2022
I began to love the sea and the wind at 11 and together with two other friends, with my same passion, we built a sailing dinghy. At 16 I started windsurfing and from there it has always been a crescendo. I spent three months at the beach during the holidays and never got off the table.
