Learning to sail is fun!
Under the guidance of an experienced sailing instructor and skipper who knows the area, we sail around 150 - 250 nautical miles on 7-day trips. All sailing training takes place in accordance with the guidelines of the German Sailing Association (DSV), and we have also been awarded the DSV-recognized sailing school designation. The practical SKS exam takes place on the last day of the trip (Friday) in Izola.
During the trip we practice all the maneuvers relevant to the exam intensively. Navigation exercises and anchoring maneuvers are obligatory and we also practice handling the yacht under engine. Depending on the crew's level of knowledge, the current weather conditions and the resulting trip planning, we always try to do a night trip or at least a night approach. On the last day of the trip there is the opportunity to take the practical SKS license exam on board.
The training is carried out according to the guidelines of the DSV (German Sailing Association). All instructors are experienced sailing teachers. On the Friday before the end of the trip, a practical exam takes place before the official examination board. Anyone who uses the trip just as a refresher or to get to know the boat... well, they are not allowed to take the exam, but they can still take part in it.
