Sailing Cabin Mooring Course

Do you already have a boating license (or are about to get one) and want to make the leap in quality?

Docking isn't just a maneuver: it's safety, control, and awareness.

A program dedicated to those who already have a boating license but wish to hone their practical skills and gain full mastery of the most delicate and crucial maneuvers: safe docking and undocking.
The course takes place aboard sailing boats of at least 12 meters and includes numerous practical tests in the water, alternating with moments of applied theory.

Plan

Educational objectives
• Learn and experiment with different docking methods.
• Safely manage the use of springs and ropes.
• Consolidate knowledge and correct use of fundamental knots.
• Gain mastery of maneuvers in small spaces and in variable conditions.:

Topics covered
• Use of the support dinghy.
• Steering with tiller and wheel.
• Drift and leeway: how to anticipate and compensate for them.
• Evolutionary effect of the propeller: understanding it and using it to your advantage.
• Safety on board during docking maneuvers.

Class times:
from 9:30 to 18:30

What you will do:

• Mooring and unmooring techniques

• Use of springs and tops

• Approach to tiller and wheel steering

• Study of drift, leeway and use of support dinghy

• Safety and crew management during maneuvers

Membership card (ASI or Vivila)
Non-competitive medical certificate
Driving licence recommended but not mandatory

This course is taught in italian. You must have a sufficient level of this language to be able to follow the course.
