For the Easter holidays we present a journey that combines nautical tourism in the beautiful landscapes of Formentera and the islands of the Freus with a complete practical course of maritime navigation.

We will enjoy coves and beaches of Espalmador, Illetes and beaches of Formentera, sailing through the intermediate routes learning to plan defeats, to trim the sails for a better behavior of the boat, to govern the wheel to take full advantage of the rudder, and practicing habitual maneuvers in navigation, including the use of spinnaker if the knowledge of the crew allows it.

We will leave on Wednesday 8 on the way to Grao de Castellón to sleep in the Dagon that night.

On the morning of Thursday 9 we will make our way to Formentera, reaching in the afternoon Espalmador where we will spend the night anchored in a buoy.

On Friday 10 we will sail along the coast of Formentera to return in the afternoon to Ensenada del Cochino where we will spend the night.

On Saturday we will go with the auxiliary to the port of La Sabina to visit the town. There we will spend the day to return to the ship and leave at dawn back to our base, by night crossing with sunrise and morning navigation to Castellón.

The boat
Boat that combines comfort with good speed benefits for its length. Like all First, it defends its rating well for its hull design, a good size stick that supports a large sail area compensated by a daggerboard that lowers its draft to 2.35 m, and symmetrical spi. Although it is not comparable to a Swan type racer, its interior comfort makes up for it, offering good habitability. It plays a more than worthy role in regattas and offers good comfort for long stays on vacation.

Meet Luis, the skipper

Yacht captain and PPER with extensive experience in crossings and regattas. I enjoy sailing in almost any situation, relaxed on vacation or competitive of regattas. I do not care about the bad weather or sleep little or anywhere but I detest the problems of coexistence on board.

Highly recommended experience. Queco was a very good teacher, pedagogue and very patient as well as being very sympathetic.

After a more detailed explanation (perhaps the time we were in the classroom could be reduced and part of the "agenda" to see it directly on the boat) of the documentation that had been sent to us a couple of days before by email (this gave us time to read it and that everything sounded to us), we went to the boat to practice what we had seen theoretically.

Good atmosphere generated by the instructor (Queco), who explained each maneuver to be carried out in a simple and enjoyable way, and why. Very well also with the rest of the participants.

A pity that there was little wind and we were wanting more.

A good experience that I will certainly repeat!
