The Great Mediterranean Eclipse by sailboat from Palma

Did you know that you haven't seen a total solar eclipse in Mallorca for more than a century? The day will turn into night for a few moments, and the Real Club Náutico de Palma will be our starting point for an unrepeatable spectacle.

Why is the Balearic Islands a privileged place?

The trajectory of totality: The strip of total darkness will cross northern Spain and reach the Balearic Islands just before sunset. Mallorca is in a strategic position.

The “Eclipse at Sunset”: Unlike other places, in Mallorca the eclipse will occur with the Sun very low on the horizon (some or less). This creates an impressive visual effect: a “black” sun above the sea, surrounded by sunset colors.

Clear skies: Statistically, August in the Mediterranean offers the best chance of clear skies in all of Europe.

No light pollution: Seeing it from the sea eliminates any physical obstacle (buildings) and the reverberation of the earth's heat, offering perfect clarity.

We set sail at 4:30pm to experience 6 hours of pure magic. We will sail, merging with the silence of the sea, until we anchor in pristine white sand coves. Enjoy a swim in turquoise waters, go paddle surfing or simply relax to the sound of the Mediterranean.

The Peak Moment: As you sample our exclusive catering and toast with champagne, the sun will begin its final dance. We will see how the moon bites the sun just above the horizon, creating a crown of fire over the sea. To experience the totality from the deck of a sailboat, without obstacles and surrounded by immensity, is the most sensory and exclusive experience of the year.

The Magical Return: We will sail back (21:30 h - 23:00 h) under a starry sky, contemplating the Cathedral of Palma illuminated from a perspective that only the sea offers.

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english and spanish)

✅ What the activity includes:

• Exclusive Sailing: 6 and a half hours of sailing (from 16:30 to 23:00) departing and returning from the prestigious Real Club Náutico de Palma.

• Professional Crew: Professional skipper service responsible for navigation and safety.

• Astronomical Experience: Strategic positioning at sea to see the entirety of the eclipse (peak at approximately 20:32) with the Sun low above the horizon, free from obstacles and light pollution.

• Anchorage and Relax: Stop at a cove with crystal clear waters and white sand to swim and relax before the phenomenon.

• Sports Equipment: Free use of Paddle Surf boards and Snorkeling equipment.

• Gourmet Catering: Special dinner served on board designed exclusively for this event.

• Drinks and Toasts: Selection of drinks included during the trip and toasts with champagne to celebrate the moment of the totality of the eclipse.

• Panoramic Return: Night navigation along the Bay of Palma with views of the illuminated Cathedral.

❌ What the activity doesn't include:

• Transfers to the port: Transportation from the hotel or home to the Real Club Náutico de Palma is at the expense of the customer.

• Personal clothing and equipment: Towels, swimsuits, sunscreen or warm clothing for night sailing are not included (it is recommended to bring them).

• Premium spirits: Other than the drinks included in the catering and the champagne toast, additional liquors or combination glasses are not included.

• Gratuities: Crew bonuses are not included and are at the customer's discretion.

• Any service not mentioned: Any extra not specified in the “includes” section.

Boat details

With a length of 12.50 metres, a width of 3.84 metres and a draft of 2 metres, you will be able to experience the enclaves and emotions that sailing in the Balearic Islands entails.

The sailboat, which has been sailing the Mediterranean coast since 2012, also has a 40 hp diesel engine, a dinghy and an outboard motor.

Its two steering wheels, which will transport you on an unparalleled adventure, contrast with the interior comfort it offers. 3 double cabins, 2 bathrooms with showers and a practical kitchen will allow you to enjoy comfort that few can afford.

And if you prefer, you can always sunbathe on the impressive solarium that is available. The boat also has hot water, an electric refrigerator, a bathing ladder, a shower on deck, a chart table, a windlass, an autopilot, a plotter...
