The journey begins in Getxo and also ends in Getxo four days later.

No sailing experience is necessary. Although you can contribute to the maneuvers of the sailboat. The proposal is basically a vacation trip.

We will sail along the Basque coast starting from Getxo and visiting the most emblematic places on our coast. The idea is to have plenty of time to fish, cook and go ashore at different ports for dinner, a walk or simply a drink. We will enjoy the anchorages to eat, bathe and enjoy some of the most beautiful places on our Basque Coast.

The ports we have on the list are Bermeo, Lekeitio, Mutriku, Getaria, Hondarribia, Pasaia, Sokoa Bay... There's always a bit of adventure in this, because moorings may or may not be available at every port. They are always lively ports, with surprising people, cuisine and a coastline that makes locals and strangers fall in love with each other in summer: it's definitely a fun and convivial plan.

Plan

Sunday - Departure.

11:00 — Boarding and departure from Puerto Deportivo de Getxo.

Coastal navigation to the Urdaibai reserve with a stop at Elantxobe.

Plan of the day:

- First navigation and familiarization with the sailboat.

- Anchor for a bath or an aperitif if the weather permits.

- Stroll around the picturesque port

- A must see.

- Viewpoints of the town and its vertical port.

- Fish or pintxos dinner at the port

- Night: mooring in Elantxobe.

Monday - Costa de Lea-Artibai.

Departure after breakfast to Lekeitio.

Plan of the day:

- Short sailing enjoying the coast.

- Anchorage in the bay for swimming.

- Free afternoon in the village.

- A must see: Basilica of the Assumption of Saint Mary in Lekeitio.

- Ride to the island of San Nicolás Island when the tide goes down.

- Pintxos in the port.

Night: mooring in Lekeitio.

Tuesday - Heading to Gipuzkoa.

Sailing to Getaria, one of the most emblematic ports in the Cantabrian Sea.

Plan of the day:

- Quiet coastal navigation.

- Possible stop for fishing or swimming.

- Gourmet afternoon.

- Must see: Old Town of Getaria and Monte San Antón (the “Mouse of Getaria”).

- Dinner on fish grills in the port

Night: mooring in Getaria.

Wednesday - Arrival to France.

Navigation to San Juan de Luz with a stop in Hondarribia if conditions permit.

Plan of the day:

- Sailing to the French coast.

- Stroll around the port and the historic center

- Must see: Church of San Juan Bautista and Streets of the historic center.

- Dinner at the port with a maritime atmosphere

Night: mooring in San Juan de Luz or nearby Sokoa Bay.

Thursday - Return.

Easy departure back to Getxo.

Plan of the day:

- Last sailing along the Basque coast.

- Stop for swimming or food on board.

- Arrival in the afternoon.

End of the journey: disembarkation in Getxo.

On this voyage, the idea is to live on board, which is one of the most beautiful parts of sailing. To do this, at the start of the trip, the crew usually organizes a common boat with which a joint purchase of food and drink is made for sailing days.

Together we decide what we want to cook on board, organizing simple and pleasant meals: quiet breakfasts, lunches anchored in a cove or bay, and relaxed dinners in the port or on the boat.
