Embark on La Peregrina, a 70-foot steel ketch designed by the prestigious German Frers, specially designed to travel around the world. With more than 40 Atlantic crossings, this sailboat offers safety, comfort and active participation of the entire crew.

On board you'll be guided by experienced skippers and certified RYA instructors. You will not be a passenger, but an essential part of the crew:

Plan

Day 1 to 2 - Training and adaptation to the boat and safety maneuvers.

Day 3 - We set sail for Galicia.

We will sail 870 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean.

During the voyage, the students will guard the boat, and there will be a briefing on meteorology, route and strategy according to the meteorological reports downloaded from day to day.

Life on board will be divided among the crew: preventive maintenance, food, cleaning. Everyone will move and will work as a crew.

Other information

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english, portuguese and spanish)

The price includes: Accommodation on board with its own bunk bed and storage area, skipper and first officer, pre-sailing training with ocean safety courses before setting sail.

The price does not include: Transfer to the port of departure, food and drinks ashore, cash on board, 50€ per person per day (to cover fuel, berths and full board on board).

There is the possibility of obtaining nautical certificates and qualifications.

Boat details

70-foot steel ocean sailboat equipped with ketch and designed by German Frers, one of the most prestigious naval designers of all time. The boat is a commission for his brother, who wanted a boat to sail around the world easily, comfortably and safely.

The boat is in perfect sailing condition, it has received different refits throughout its history, the last of which in 2024 in which the entire electrical system and wiring of the boat were changed. Complete with main engine and generator, autopilot, mats, sails, fixed and mobile rigs, etc... the boat was dry for 12 months for this refit and was prepared for ocean sailing school.

The crew is comprised of 2 experienced RYA instructors so that one is always on call.

Our instructors have a lot of experience not only sailing but also teaching, they are patient, technical and sensitive to the different characters that may be on board.

Boat equipment: Unlimited oceanic Zone 1 with all the safety measures recommended by MCA and RYA.
