The first day is the day of embarkation. We will be on the Island of Kythira (the boarding point will be decided a few days before according to the weather conditions). You can board from 3pm. We will sleep in the port or anchorage area where we are and we will decide the plan for the next day among the whole group.
The island of Kythira has connections from the Athens airport.
The other days we will dedicate to sailing and visiting the areas destined for this trip: Ionian Island of Kythira and the province of Laconia and Mesenia in the Peloponnese.
On this trip, there is no fixed itinerary marked out, but an area to discover, and we will do it at our own pace, according to what the whole group feels like and the pace set by the weather.
Islands / Some Points of interest on our route:
Kythira Island: It is located south of the Peloponnese, and is part of the Ionian Islands. Traditional houses, numerous churches, remote beaches with crystal clear waters, typical taverns offering Greek specialities. A place where you can enjoy authentic Greek life, visit its villages, walk trails, immerse yourself in its history, relax and let yourself be carried away by a rhythm that does not understand clocks.
Elafonisos Island: Located off the coast of the Peloponnese, it is said that the best beaches in Greece are found on the small island of Elafonisos. White sand and turquoise waters, a place that deserves a stop to anchor, relax and enjoy the sea.
In Elafonisos there is also a small church, built on a little piece of land on the sea, which is linked to the island by a bridge. It is located in front of the only town on the island, an ideal place also to stop and taste the delicious Greek cuisine.
The Peloponnese:
The Peloponnese is a region where we find the authenticity of Greece. Traditional towns, archaeological remains, beaches with crystalline waters next to charming towns, local production of wine, cheese and honey, and a large dose of history and culture that we can soak up during our tour of this peninsula.
We will be able to visit traditional towns such as Porto Kagio, Vathia, Pygros or Oytilo and get closer to the impressive Diros Caves, cross its galleries in a small boat and let ourselves be impressed by this natural spectacle of labyrinthine caves of stalactites and stalagmites.
Pylos: it will be the end point of our sailing trip. Pilos is a picturesque town with a lot of history. It is nestled in a wonderful natural environment, and has a very well protected natural harbour. We will be able to visit fortresses with impressive views over the sea.
Next to Pylos, we find numerous places of interest, such as the Yálova Lagoon, a refuge for migratory birds and a place of great ecological interest. It is located next to Voidokiliá Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece.
In addition, a few kilometers from Pylos, there are natural waterfalls that form 15 lakes. Another of the hidden treasures of the Peloponnese.
