Trip description:
On our yacht from Olbia to Corsica.
This dream route connects two of the most exclusive and scenically stunning regions of the Mediterranean. The journey begins on the world-famous Costa Smeralda in northeastern Sardinia, known for its emerald-green waters, rugged granite cliffs, and Caribbean-like sandy beaches.

From there, our yacht Nimba sets course north through the spectacular Maddalena Archipelago, a protected national park island paradise with secluded anchorages. After crossing the notorious Strait of Bonifacio – a narrow passage with reliable winds – the yacht reaches the southern tip of Corsica. Entering the natural harbor of Bonifacio, whose old town sits breathtakingly atop white chalk cliffs overlooking the sea, is the undisputed highlight of this voyage.

The exclusive benefits on board
1. Maximum 6 guests – privacy instead of mass tourism
While many cabin charter yachts are crammed to capacity, occupancy is strictly limited to a maximum of 6 guests. This offers unbeatable advantages:

More space: Significantly more room on and below deck, in the cabins and in the saloon. Each cabin has its own bathroom.

A family atmosphere: You don't travel as an anonymous tourist, but as part of a small, exclusive crew. Arrangements for route planning (e.g., which bay to visit) can be made much more individually and flexibly.

Less stress in everyday life: Cooking, living and relaxing on board is absolutely harmonious and relaxed with 6 people.

2. Skipper Klaus – 20 years of experience in cabin charter
A sailing trip stands or falls with the skipper. With Klaus at the helm, you have an absolute professional who brings over two decades of experience, especially in the cabin charter sector.

Safety and composure: Klaus knows the area between Sardinia and Corsica like the back of his hand. He knows exactly how the weather behaves in the Strait of Bonifacio and steers the yacht with absolute confidence.

The best insider tips: Thanks to his 20 years of experience, he knows the most secluded bathing bays, the best restaurants on land and the most beautiful snorkeling spots away from the tourist crowds.

Perfect host: Klaus masterfully manages to form a functioning, harmonious team from complete strangers in just a few days, and caters individually to the sailing experience of the guests – from beginners to experienced crew members.

  • Plan
Boarding is on Saturday at 5:00 PM, disembarkation is on the following Saturday at 9:00 AM.

Our starting and ending port is Marina di Olbia. You can find more information here:
    https://www.moys.it/de/der-marina-hafen/

The marina is approximately a 5-minute taxi ride or a 15-minute walk from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport. All essential amenities are within walking distance: a large supermarket and several discount stores are nearby.

After shopping and getting to know each other, we'll either go out for dinner on Saturday evening or stay on board – entirely as the crew wishes.

On Sunday morning, after breakfast and the safety briefing, we'll set sail. Since many of our crew members would like to visit Bonifacio, our first anchorage will likely be near the La Maddalena archipelago. From there, depending on wind and weather, we'll continue towards Bonifacio or Corsica.

On the way to or from Bonifacio, we can – depending on the weather – also visit the beautiful Îles Lavezzi archipelago.
    https://bonifacio-korsika.de/entdecken-sie/bonifacio-in-lebensgrose/das-archipel-der-lavezzi-inseln/
The Lavezzi Islands are known for their crystal-clear waters, impressive granite cliffs, and magnificent swimming coves. They are among the most beautiful natural areas in the Strait of Bonifacio and are a true highlight of any sailing trip.

How we plan the trip depends on the wind, weather, and the crew. My approach is this: the crew makes suggestions or expresses wishes, and then I say what's possible and what's not. :-)

About me as skipper: I've been sailing for around 40 years, at least 20 of them in crew charters. Unlike skippers who are only out with crews for one or two weeks a year, I see myself as a service provider for the crew, responsible for all nautical matters.

    About our ship:
Our boat is a Gib'Sea 51, built in 2001. This means it's one of the few boats truly built for sailing. It handles well without being sluggish or slow. Furthermore, it's equipped with everything you need for modern navigation and safety on board.
