Cruise Navigation Course – Academy on Board

Objective of the course:
Knowledgeable crewed boating for a cruise with friends or family; proper sail trimming (including the gennaker), route planning using a nautical chart, knowledge and proper use of onboard equipment, mooring and anchoring skills, proper use of VHF, DISTRESS, AIS, AISMOB, GPS, and electronic chartplotter systems.
Acquisition of basic notions of meteorology.

Includes: instructor, use of boat, diesel, safety equipment.
Does not include: mooring ports and galleys, on a cruise
Minimum 4 students, maximum 7 per boat

Duration:
10 sailing trips, including 2 offshore cruises and a week-long summer cruise in command simulation; spread over 5 months, 4 or more educational evenings held midweek on dates to be determined.

This course is taught in italian. You must have a sufficient level of this language to be able to follow the course.

Requirements: medical certificate for non-competitive sports activities
possible overnight stay on board during the activity
