Initial Briefing:
Introduction to the basics of sailing, including the use of sails, wind direction and sail trimming.
Review of the characteristics of the sailboat used, such as the keel, centerboard and rudder.
Sailboat Preparation:
Participants will learn how to prepare the sailboat for sailing, including hoisting the sails, checking the rigging and safety on board.
Guidance will be provided on the importance of balance and weight distribution on the sailboat.
Maneuver Practice:
Participants will practice essential maneuvers, such as turns and jibes, under the supervision of instructors.
Effective communication and coordination between the crew will be encouraged to execute maneuvers safely and efficiently.
Navigation in Different Conditions:
Sailing will be carried out in various wind and wave conditions so that participants become familiar with the response of the sailboat in different situations.
Emphasis will be placed on reading the wind and making decisions based on changing conditions.
Emergency Simulation:
Simulations of emergency situations, such as sudden changes in weather conditions or the loss of a sail, will be carried out so that participants practice effective responses.
Debriefing:
After the navigation, a debriefing will be held to discuss individual and collective experiences.
Positive aspects, areas for improvement will be reviewed and advice for continuous improvement will be provided.
This sailing activity will not only allow participants to acquire practical sailing skills, but will also build confidence in handling a sailboat in diverse conditions. The combination of theoretical and experiential learning will contribute to the comprehensive development of sailing skills.
