Alicante will be the Port of Departure of the Around the World Sailing Tour for the fifth time in the history of the regatta. 11 boats meet this week in final preparation for the start of The Ocean Race 2022-23.

This is the 14th edition of the emblematic oceanic regatta that will go around the world and will be the first to present the latest technology IMOCA60 boats with 100% renewable energy.

The IMOCA60 have foils capable of supporting themselves and lifting a large part of the hull to almost flying. Along with the VO65 fleet, which has previously competed in the last two events.

During the previous week, from Saturday to the day of the regatta (Sunday of the following week) you will be able to see and watch up close, both the regattas and the official starts, and enjoy a live regatta session. You will be able to observe different water activities (training, optimist regatta, cruise regatta). On Sunday the official start of STAGE 1 of the ALICANTE-CABO VERDE regatta will begin.
