Lunar Eclipse with Sunset by sailboat from Getxo

We will set sail from the sailboat and enter the Abra, sailing out to sea in search of a clear horizon that will allow us to fully enjoy this natural spectacle. The route will combine open sea with progressive entry to the estuary, culminating the experience with sailing under the majestic Vizcaya Bridge, a magical ending to an unrepeatable night.

During the journey we will enjoy a beautiful sunset over the Cantabrian Sea and, late at night, the lunar eclipse (scheduled at approximately 20:27 p.m.), reaching its peak around midnight.

We have opened places so you can come accompanied: as a couple, with friends, with family or in a group. It will be an evening to share special moments, sail calmly and contemplate the extraordinary fusion of sky lights reflected on the sea and the estuary.

19:15 h — Boarding.

Reception of passengers, boarding and presentation of the trip.

Brief explanation of the route, sailing conditions and highlights of the night.

19:30 h — Departure to Abra.

We set sail and head out to the high seas, looking for a clear environment for observing the sky.

20:00 h — Sailing and sunset.

Peaceful journey through the Abra as the sun begins to set over the Cantabrian Sea.

Start of the astronomical observation environment.

20:27 h — Start of the lunar eclipse.

The phenomenon of the lunar eclipse begins. Observation from deck with a calm sea and an open horizon.

21:00 h — Sailing back to the estuary.

Start of the return, enjoying the eclipse in its advanced phase and the night sky.

21:45 h — Entry into the Nervión estuary.

Progressive access to the illuminated urban environment, creating a unique contrast between city, water and sky.

22:15 h — Sailing under the Bizkaia Hanging Bridge.

Highlight of the journey: passage under the illuminated bridge icon, symbolic closing of the experience.

22:15 h — Disembarkation.

End of activity.

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english and spanish)

The visualization of the lunar eclipse is subject to weather conditions, so we cannot guarantee its observation in case of cloudy or overcast skies. In addition, if conditions are adverse for navigation, the possibility of rescheduling the departure to another date will be offered. In these cases, the refund of the amount paid is not contemplated.

Boat details

A safe and comfortable boat. This is a Jeanneau Sun Odissey 40.30, built in France by the renowned Jeanneau shipyard and designed by Daniel Andrieu, a naval architect with extensive experience. The hull is made of fiberglass and the deck is made of Burmese teak.

The ship features a modern and elegant interior design. The cabins and common areas are decorated with high-quality materials, creating a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere.

The cabins are spacious and comfortable, as are the common areas where guests can relax and enjoy their time on board.

Equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and safety systems, the sailboat ensures a safe and worry-free journey.

For day trips, it can accommodate 11 passengers plus the skipper. For weekly groups, however, it can accommodate 6 crew members in 3 double cabins. In the saloon there is a table that can be converted into a bed, which the skipper uses for his overnight stay.
