The Lofoten Islands are among the most spectacular sailing areas in Europe. Mountains rise directly from the sea, small fishing villages lie nestled between fjords, and in summer the sun shines until late into the night.

Sailing here feels different. The landscape is vast, the light more intense, the encounter with nature more direct. Trollfjord, Henningsvær, or Reine are not just places – they are impressions that last.

Like all KAPITEL. trips, this one is also designed as an all-inclusive premium experience. Skipper, yacht, onboard catering, and special encounters are already included, allowing guests to focus entirely on sailing and the scenery.

A personal video call always takes place before participation. This conversation marks the true beginning of the journey. Those sailing north begin this chapter weeks in advance – with planning, anticipation, and the first look at the nautical chart.

Sailing under the midnight sun

8 days between fjords and fishing villages
The Lofoten Islands look like a landscape from an ancient saga.
Mountains rise directly from the sea.
The sun remains in the sky until deep into the night.
Sailing here becomes almost meditative.

Day 1 — Svolvær
Arrival at the port of Svolvær.
Small fishing boats lie next to modern yachts.
The mountains rise directly behind the town.

Day 2 — Trollfjord
A short trip leads to the legendary Trollfjord.
The entrance looks like a gateway made of rock.
Inside, the water suddenly becomes completely still.

Day 3 — Henningsvær
Sailing to the small islands of Henningsvær.
A fishing village built on bridges and small rocks.
Cafes, galleries and salty air.

Day 4 — Open Sea
Today we're heading out into the open North Sea.
The coast remains in view, but the vastness is palpable.
Perhaps midnight sun at sea in the evening.

Day 5 — Pure
The path continues south to Reine.
A village nestled between steep mountains – perhaps the most beautiful place in Lofoten.

Day 6 — Island Evening
Anchoring off a small island.
A walk across rocks and moss.
Dinner on board or a small fire on the beach.

Day 7 — Sailing through island chains
Slow drive back towards the north.
The landscape is constantly changing.
Each bay looks like a new painting.

Day 8 — Return to Svolvær
One last look at the mountains.
Lines securely in the harbor.
A chapter from the north comes to an end.
