The stages in detail:
Stage 1: The start to Mindelo (approx. 850 NM)
Duration: approx. 8-10 days
Route:
Leg 1
We start in Tenerife and sail in a southwesterly direction.
This first leg serves for acclimatization, the change of rhythm, and fine-tuning of the crew. We are taking advantage of the first effects of the northeast trade winds and the Canary Current.
Stopover: Arrival in Mindelo, São Vicente, the cultural hotspot of Cape Verde.
Here we make a well-deserved stop to recharge our batteries, replenish our provisions and enjoy the unique flair of the music island before the long crossing begins.
Leg 2:
The Atlantic crossing to Le Marin (approx. 2,100 NM)
Duration: approx. 14-20 days of continuous sailing
This is the real "great" crossing. We follow the steady trade winds on a constant westerly course. Pure bluewater sailing awaits you: endless horizons, spectacular starry skies, flying fish, perhaps dolphins, and the meditative tranquility of the ocean.
Destination: Arrival in Le Marin, Martinique. Sighting the first Caribbean island after weeks at sea is an unforgettable moment. The lush vegetation and Caribbean flair are the ultimate reward.
