Embark as a crew member for a crossing of the Atlantic from West to East, a real adventure from the Antilles to Brittany.
With a duration of approximately 28 days, approximately 3,500 nautical miles separate the 2 lands. This is a transatlantic and not a cruise where your participation is active. You will embark as a crew member on board, supervised by 2 professional sailors, qualified Captain 200 Sailing and State Certificate. You will be subject to navigation watches, approximately 10 hours per 24 hours, but also to stewardship, kitchen, dishwashing, etc. watches.
Our ships deliberately do not use a pilot or furlers. This is, in fact, one of the best ways to discover ocean navigation.
You may have to endure bad weather, heat at the beginning, then cold in the North Atlantic, sometimes "hassles". As a crew member on a transatlantic crossing, you must therefore be psychologically ready to take part in a transatlantic crossing.
Beyond navigation, crossing the Atlantic requires self-denial. The opportunity to "let go" of the earthly rhythm, to "reconnect" with oneself and enjoy simple pleasures. A real breath of fresh air!
For this navigation to France, a stopover takes place in Horta on the island of Faial. A useful stop, whether to freshen up, rest, carry out a technical intervention or simply discover Horta (depending on the length of the stopover).
This stopover allows you to observe the weather forecast for the last leg and possibly have a period of a few days of "stand by" if necessary. Not to be forgotten, a stop at the unmissable Peter Cafe Sport to have a drink, remake the world and prepare your imprint on the quay!
Depending on the weather conditions and the crossing time, only the Captain, your professional skipper, will decide on the duration of the stopover.
As on-board communications are reserved for on-board security, communications by satellite telephone (Iridium) or email are not offered on board.
