To obtain the Pleasure Boat Pattern (PER) it is essential to complete:
1.- Short Range Radio Operator (ROCA) Course.
2.- Safety and Navigation Practice.
In this pack we also offer the practice of Extending to the Balearic Islands in 24-hour navigation.
In our school, we are committed to quality teaching, limiting to 6 students per group both in motor and radio practice. It is clear that the ratio of students to instructor is essential in a practical activity, in which what is important is the number of times you can repeat a maneuver to learn it well.
1.- Radio Operator Course (ROCA).
It is done only once: if you already have it for a degree, it works for higher education.
Structure and workload:
• Total duration: 12 hours.
• Theoretical part: 4 hours taught online.
• Practical part: 8 hours in an approved simulator.
2.- Safety and Navigation Practice.
To accredit it, you need a certificate from an approved school.
Minimum duration: 16 hours, organized in 4-hour outings (usually two outings per day).
Practical contents:
Security and pre-checks: safety material, review of critical points and checks before leaving.
Defeat planning and firefighting: navigation area, crew conditions, weather reading and firefighting concepts.
Engine and electrical installation: main elements, starting and operating tests.
Maintenance, environment and cabuyeria: care according to the material of the ship, antifouling agents, pollution prevention, management of basic cables and knots.
Maneuvers: dock, mooring and undocking, and safety speed.
Anchorage, surveillance and defeat control: anchoring maneuver, course control, RIPA, marks and beacons, reverse course and precautions at night or with poor visibility.
Navigation: practice with directions, delays, GNSS, graphic estimation, use of a probe and slide, positioning on a chart and recognition of the coast.
Safety maneuvers: man in the water (MOB function in GNSS), giving/receiving a trailer and considerations in boat and helicopter rescues.
3.- Expansion practice to the Balearic Islands. We will sail 24 hours non-stop.
