Training trip to develop your skills as a crew member and skipper. We will sail traditionally using the techniques of both the Spanish school (DGMM) and the Anglo-Saxon school (RYA). We will use dead reckoning navigation techniques, with a compass and nautical charts. Without GPS. We will learn how the different sails work and how to trim them.
Maximum 6 crew members. We will depart from Valencia and visit the islands of Ibiza and Formentera.
We will practice offshore navigation, both day and night, coastal navigation techniques, positioning and use of nautical charts, sail trimming, weather forecasting, rules of course and steering (RIPA) and, in general, all the skills necessary to skipper a sailing boat.
This course is designed to help you gain experience in sailing and achieve the confidence necessary to rent a boat yourself. It is not a pleasure cruise. We will have time to swim and disembark in the incredible coves of the Balearic archipelago, but it is, above all, an intense sailing course.
No previous knowledge is necessary, everything you need to know is learned on board. Upon completion, diplomas are issued and a certificate of completed miles is issued.
Although we will see the navigation techniques of the Spanish and Anglo-Saxon schools, they are not official practices for obtaining the Spanish nautical qualification (DGMM), nor are they a preparation course to pass the RYA Yachtmaster exam.
