Course offered by Miguel

Contact
A trip to develop your skills as a crew member and skipper. Maximum 6 crew members to make the most of your time. We will leave from Valencia and visit the islands of Ibiza, Formentera and Columbretes.

We will practice offshore navigation, both day and night, coastal navigation techniques, positioning and use of nautical charts, sail trimming, weather forecasting, rules of course and steering (RIPA) and, in general, all the skills necessary to skipper a sailing boat.

This is a course designed to help you gain experience in sailing and achieve the confidence necessary to rent a boat yourself. It is not a pleasure cruise. We will have time to swim and disembark in the incredible coves of the Balearic archipelago, but it is, above all, an intense sailing course.

No previous knowledge is necessary, everything you need to know is learned on board. Upon completion, diplomas are issued and a certificate of completed miles is issued.

Boat details

10-meter ocean sailing yacht from the manufacturer Maxus Yatch. New from 2024, very similar to those offered by charter companies, making it ideal for familiarizing yourself with its maneuver and type of navigation. It has 3 large cabins and a convertible lounge, a full kitchen and two bathrooms.

Sailing on this sailboat is easy and maneuverable quickly, allowing us to sail in a relaxed manner. Its shallow draft will allow us to anchor in the best coves of the Mediterranean. Its spacious cockpit stands out, where we can spend pleasant moments outdoors.

Doing the Valencia-Balearic Islands 500 NM crossing with Miguel has been an excellent experience. As a calm and capable skipper, as a patient and motivating instructor, I would cross any ocean with Miguel!

Very interesting course, we saw all the methods of dead reckoning, positioning, tides, etc. Miguel explains the concepts very well and it is clear that he masters them. He is patient and doesn't mind repeating things a thousand times. He is a great teacher, I am sure I will sign up for other courses.
