Embark on a high seas voyage that will take you from Alicante to Menorca, covering more than 250 nautical miles, leaving the coast behind as you sail through open waters.

This voyage is not only an adventure at sea, but a unique opportunity to learn and improve your knowledge of long-range navigation. During the voyage, you will be out of sight of land for long periods, allowing you to put into practice all the key aspects of ocean navigation.

What will you learn during the journey?

Safe Journey Planning: We will teach you how to meticulously plan every step, ensuring your journey is safe and efficient.
Boat inspection and weather assessment: Before setting off, you will learn how to perform a detailed inspection of the boat, and how to interpret and assess the weather conditions to ensure a trip without surprises.
Study of weather conditions: You will learn to read and analyze weather reports, using tools that will allow you to anticipate changes in the weather and make informed decisions during the trip.
Optimizing Sail Trim: Learn how to maximize the speed and efficiency of your sailboat by adjusting and trimming your sails correctly to suit the wind conditions.
Night Navigation: You will navigate at night, learning to use the autopilot, manage night watches and maintain safety on board in conditions of reduced visibility.
Safety features on board: We will study all the safety equipment, from vests to emergency procedures, so that you can react quickly and effectively to any unforeseen situation.
Use of electronic equipment: Learn to use navigation and communications systems, such as GPS, radar, VHF, for modern and safe navigation.
Port of call and shelter assessment: We will teach you how to assess ports and emergency shelters, analyzing their accessibility and the conditions for safe docking in case of need.

Plan

We will meet at the port of Alicante on the first day at 10:00 a.m.

After settling into your cabins, we will learn how to maneuver the sailboat we are going to sail on, we will review the basic concepts to keep in mind and we will study the weather to plan the journey for the next few days together.

In the following days, we will have two-person watches for day and night navigation, and you will be the ones in charge of navigation in order to learn and become self-sufficient and safe in navigation, always under our supervision.

We will see concepts in a practical way, as they appear.

We will learn to trim and optimize navigation, achieving balance on the boat and we will use navigation tools to position ourselves and plot our course.

The landing will be in Menorca on Monday.

Other information

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (spanish)

*The program will depend on the weather conditions. The wind and sea conditions will guide us in planning the route we will follow.

*LUGGAGE: Hard suitcases or suitcases with wheels are not allowed on board. A backpack of about 30 - 40 liters is recommended, with comfortable clothing suitable for sailing and waterproof clothing.

*MEALS ON BOARD: Meals on board are not included in the price. €15 per person per day (€90) will be charged for the purchases that we will make before your arrival so that everything is ready to set sail. These will be simple meals for the cruise. Dinners while in port will be served off the ship.

Boat details

More than a sailboat, this boat is a home for us and our guests. It is cozy and with comfortable spaces.
The sailboat is 13.30 meters long. It has 4 cabins. Two of them with a double bed, one with a double bed and an additional bed, and one with 2 bunk beds.
It has a spacious living room inside, a well-equipped kitchen, and 2 bathrooms with a hot shower.

Its outdoor spaces are perfect to enjoy long days at sea. Relax in the bow hanging from a hammock, or sit in the bathtub looking for a bit of shade at lunchtime.
It is a perfect boat to sail in different conditions, learn and have fun.
