Se requerirá la posesión del Certificado de Especialidad de Avanzado en Lucha Contra Incendios a los Capitanes y Oficiales de puente y de máquinas de buques mercantes, así como a los tripulantes de buques tanques que deban estar en posesión del Certificado de Familiarización en buques petroleros y quimiqueros o del Certificado de Familiarización en buques gaseros.
Este curso se lleva a cabo en Barcelona de manera presencial.
Se basa en el convenio internacional sobre normas de formación, titulación y guardia para la gente de mar (convenio STCW) el convenio de formación y código de formación en su parte A y B.

• Control de los ventiladores, incluidos los extractores de humo
• Control y de los sistemas eléctricos y sistemas de alimentación de combustible
• Riesgos del proceso de lucha contra incendios
• Lucha contra incendios en los que intervienen mercancías peligrosas
• Riesgos relacionados con el almacenamiento y la manipulación de materiales
• Tratamiento y control de heridos
• Procedimientos de coordinación con las operaciones de lucha contra incendios efectuadas desde tierra
• Elaboración de planes de contingencias
• Formación y asignación del personal a las cuadrillas de lucha contra incendios
