Our STCW Basic Safety Training course is the legal requirement for those wishing to work commercially on board ships, sailboats, superyachts, and cruise ships.

We are a center approved by the Liberian Registry to teach these courses in English.

The Liberian Registry certificate is on the IMO's white list of recognized countries, so it is valid if you need the STCW minimum safety certificate and is even accepted by the MCA - UK.

Plan

The STCW Basic Safety Training certificate has the five main modules:

Personal Survival Techniques (A-VI/1-1)
Fire Prevention and Firefighting (A-VI/1-2)
Elementary First Aid (A-VI/1-3)
Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (A-VI/1-4)
Security Awareness (A-VI/6-1)

This 5-day course is usually scheduled from 9am to 5pm.

1 day: Personal Safety and Social Responsabilities + Security Awareness
2 day: Elementary First Aid
3 day: Personal Survival Techniques and Fire Prevention/Firefighting theory
4 day: Personal Survival Techniques drills
5 day: Fire Prevention and Firefighting drills

Other information

The skipper for this activity speaks english. To participate you must speak one of the languages spoken on board.

Do you wish to work on foreign-flagged private yachts? This is the minimum training required for that!

Once completed the course, you will receive a STCW Basic Safety Training certificate accredited by the Liberian Registry (and also approved by the MCA - UK).

The course is conducted in English - it is required to have a fluent level.

Additionally, accommodation and a light lunch can be provided if necessary. Once the booking has been placed, we will provide further information for those who need this option.
