El curso va dirigido a aquellos oficiales encargados de la guardia en cámara de máquinas, así como a los capitanes, patrones (incluyendo a los PPER) y oficiales que hayan de encargarse de la guardia de navegación en embarcaciones obligadas a llevar el botiquín C, según lo dispuesto en el Real Decreto 258/1999, de 12 de febrero.

La duración del curso es de 22 horas: 11 teóricas y 11 prácticas.
