An experience dedicated to lovers of the sea and sailing, with many miles of sailing, a bit of instruction, focusing on routes even far from the coast and sail trimming maneuvers. We'll only use the engine a little when the wind isn't really helping. All this in the enchanting setting of some of the most picturesque stretches of our coast, Cilento, Tropea, Capo Rizzuto, all the way to the Salento peninsula. An itinerary where white beaches alternate with sheer cliffs, and where in the evening it's impossible not to be tempted to go ashore for an evening at some of the bars offering delicious, simple, and authentic cuisine.
You don't need to be an expert sailor, but some previous sailing experience is helpful. It's also an opportunity to learn how to sail a state-of-the-art boat, with plenty of technology and solutions that are a little different from more traditional boats. For those who want, there's plenty of time during the sailing to work on weather and routes, review points of sail, refine sail trimming, coordinate the roles of trimmer/mainsail trimmer and helmsman, and learn the many little secrets of sailing together. The teaching method is based on the North Sails Trim approach. Although I know some people will prefer the windless weather to take a nice nap and admire the view through half-closed eyes.
So we'll depart from Salerno, with the marina just steps from the train station, skirt Calabria, and arrive in Otranto. I'll then continue to Corfu: after Otranto, I can only accommodate two members on board who wish to join us in the Diapontia Islands off Albania, home to Ulysses' nymph Calypso, and then on to Corfu (this leg is a friendly affair, with shared funds and no additional costs).
This isn't a commercial proposition: it's my boat, there are two skippers, and I'd like to share this holiday with those who love the sea, sailing, and a touch of adventure.
