Expected itinerary:
Preparation (from October 26th):
Upon arrival in Motril, the crew, boat and provisions are prepared.
They are waiting for a favorable weather window to be able to sail safely into the Atlantic.
1st stage: Motril – Gibraltar
The first, relatively short leg leads along the Spanish coast to Gibraltar.
Stopover in Gibraltar: A stop is made there to refuel and, if necessary, to wait for a favorable weather window in order to be able to pass through the busy Strait of Gibraltar.
Stage 2: Offshore crossing to Lanzarote
After Gibraltar, the first major offshore passage into the Atlantic begins. This passage lasts several days and nights (approximately 5 days). The route leads southwest towards Lanzarote, the easternmost of the Canary Islands. On board, watches are assigned and life on the open sea is enjoyed.
Stopover in Lanzarote: We dock in one of the ports (e.g. Marina Lanzarote in Arrecife) to recover from the crossing, explore the unique volcanic landscape and restock supplies.
Stage 3: Lanzarote – Tenerife
The final leg takes us further west through the Canary Islands (approx. 150 nautical miles). Depending on wind direction and wind acceleration zones, the passage between the islands can also be quite challenging.
Arrival in Tenerife: The trip ends in the Marina del Sur in Las Galletas in the south of Tenerife.
End of the trip: Disembarkation at Marina del Sur. Return journey is individual, for example via Tenerife South Airport (TFS).
