The first day will be the boarding day. Depending on the dates of your trip, boarding will take place on Sao Miguel Island or Faial Island.
The idea of this trip is to combine navigation between islands with visits to their interior. We will sail from Sao Miguel to the Central Islands, or vice versa, on a journey of about 90 nautical miles.
Depending on the weather, and the winds we have during the dates of the trip, the route will be designed, which we will decide jointly among all the crew members.
Here we leave you some options of the places that you can visit or excursions that you can take in the Azores Islands:
*Sao Miguel, the “Green Island”, awaits us with its lagoons and lush forests. You can visit Lagoa das Sete Cidades, where the waters mix in blue and green tones or explore Furnas, with its geysers and thermal springs. A fascinating geothermal experience!
*Terceira Island, an island where volcanoes have sculpted dramatic landscapes. You can anchor in Angra do Heroismo, a city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Its cobblestone streets and colorful houses will transport us back in time.
*Sao Jorge Island, famous for its dizzying cliffs and artisanal cheeses. You can explore the island from Puerto de las Velas, and walk along paths that wind through green grasses and blue hydrangeas.
*La Graciosa Island: here we can immerse ourselves in natural pools and explore volcanic caves. The tranquility of this island will surround us as we contemplate the horizon from the bow of the sailboat.
*Pico Island: the highest mountain in Portugal is located here. For the most mountaineers, you can climb up to 2,351 meters to enjoy panoramic views. On the island, we also find wine crops in lava fields. A traditional wine crop worth tasting.
*Faial, known as the “Blue Island”. Its hydrangeas bloom in summer, painting the landscapes in light blue tones. In Horta, the yacht port, you can exchange stories with other sailors at the famous Peter Café Sport.”
