From Athens to Lefkada via the Corinth Canal

We will experience the thrill of passing from the Aegean to the Ionian Sea starting from the island of Aegina in the Saronic Gulf where we will moor in the beautiful bay of Agia Marina, and then prepare to cross the Corinth Canal where at its entrance we will wait for our turn to be able to cross and experience this exciting navigation, we will pass through the Gulf of Patras and enjoy the imposing view of its bridge visible from miles away, then we will enter the Ionian Sea heading towards the mythical Itaka and its beautiful waters where we will spend the our last night at anchor.

This itinerary really contains everything, the adventure of passing from the Aegean to the Ionian Sea crossing the famous Corinth Canal with its high sheer rock walls, the possibility of visiting interesting archaeological sites and less touristy areas and also there will be no shortage of fascinating bays in to anchor and swim in crystal clear waters.

On board our boat we take care of everything, galley, kitchen and keeping the boat tidy and clean, you will only have to think about relaxing and enjoying the pleasant well-being that only a sailing holiday can offer, obviously if you wish you can participate to the maneuvers and management of the boat.

Who is this experience suitable for:

This itinerary includes daily sailings of 3 to 6 hours which will however be broken up by pleasant swimming breaks. We recommend it to those who have already had experience on a boat or in any case to those who can also appreciate the time spent sailing.

Plan

Boarding from 2.00pm to 3.00pm on Friday at the Alimos Marina (Athens), accommodation in the assigned cabin, short briefing and then off to this beautiful adventure!

First stop Aegina and then go up the next day to a bay near the canal, the following day, early in the morning we will cross the Corinth canal, leaving we will head towards Galaxidi, a beautiful village where we will spend the night, followed by Trizonia, green and entirely pedestrian, then we will pass into the Gulf of Patras and conclude the navigation in Mesolongi, then we will head towards Itaka to conclude our adventure in Lefkada. In the late afternoon of Thursday we will arrive on the island of Lefkada where we will spend the night in the port of Nidri, disembarkation will take place the following day by 9.00.

Other information

There is no common fund but the payment of a lump sum of €180.00 (per person per week to be paid in cash upon boarding) for the cost of the galley which includes:
- Breakfasts
- Lunches
- 3 dinners on board
- Soft drinks, beer and nr. 3 bottles of white wine
- Fuel
- Mooring fees
- Water and gas
NB we guarantee the departure of our cruises with a minimum of 2 people. If there are no other guests, the cost will be €200.00 per person;

Additional bottles of wine, prosecco and spirits are not included in this fee and must be requested before departure or purchased during the cruise in agreement with the other crew members (cost varies between €10 and €50 per person)

THE COST OF THE CORINTH CANAL TRANSIT IS EXCLUDED FROM THE STARTER PACK AND WILL BE MANAGED FROM THE COMMON CASH AND DIVIDED AMONG THE PASSENGERS (skipper and hostess are excluded).

Our sailboat is a bit like our home and is particularly comfortable and habitable, there are 3 large double cabins available to guests: an incredibly generously sized master cabin in the bow and two double aft cabins, a cabin is reserved for the crew with bunk beds, there are also 2 large bathrooms and a cozy dinette that can comfortably accommodate 8/10 people.
Outside, it offers a comfortable cockpit protected by a sprayhood and awning, seats equipped with cushions and an extendable table that allow you to enjoy lunches and dinners at anchor. The stern swimming platform is equipped with a shower with hot and cold water and at your disposal SUPs, inflatables , masks and fins.

In 2019 our sailboat underwent a refit becoming even more comfortable and welcoming:
Inside, new cushions, reading lights and USB sockets in each cabin to charge your devices.
Outside, new sprayhood, awning, cockpit cushions and very comfortable hammock and sunbathing mattresses in the bow.
Complete equipment with CD stereo, GPS, VHF, dinghy with outboard engine, autopilot, electric windlass, hot water, solar panels.
