From Corfu to Athens through the legendary Corinth Canal

Boarding from 17.00 on Friday at the Marina Mandraki in Corfu, accommodation in the assigned cabin, short briefing and then dinner in the lively town of Corfu, we will not miss a walk through the typical alleys of the center and then we will be ready to spend the first night on board.

The next morning after breakfast we set off for a 9-hour sail to the port of Preveza, we will spend the night in this pleasant town where we will have dinner in one of its typical taverns, it will be possible for those who wish to embark from here from 5:00 pm.

We will then head for Lefkada and get to the heart of our transfer, an itinerary that really contains everything, the adventure of going from the Ionian Sea to the Aegean crossing the famous Corinth Canal with its high sheer rock walls, the possibility of visiting interesting archaeological sites and less touristy areas such as Mesolongi and Galaxidi and there will also be no shortage of fascinating bays in which to anchor and the possibility of taking the first swims of the season in crystal clear waters!

Late on Friday afternoon we will arrive at Lavrio Marina (Athens) where we will spend the last night on board, disembarking the following day (Saturday) by 9.00.

The itinerary is to be considered as a rough guide and may be subject to change based on weather and sea conditions.
This itinerary includes daily navigations from 4 to 9 hours that will however be broken up by pleasant stops, we recommend it to those who want to practice, to those who have already had experience on a boat or in any case to those who can also appreciate the time spent sailing.

Plan

This perfect itinerary for those who want to practice sailing starts from the beautiful city of Corfu, we will then head towards Preveza, we will then enter the so-called inland sea through the bridge of Santa Maura in Lefkada, we will stop for a swim in a beautiful bay and then we will move for the night in Ithaca.

From here we will prepare to leave the Ionian Islands and we will set course based on the weather to Mesolongi or Lepanto, the next day we prepare for the impressive view of the Rion Antirion bridge, the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world and we continue our navigation towards Galaxidi a beautiful village where we will spend the night.

Today is finally the big day! Early in the morning we leave for the Corinth Canal where at its entrance we will wait our turn to cross it and live the experience of this truly exciting navigation, at the exit we will head towards a beautiful landing in the Saronic that we will decide based on the weather.

We will continue our navigation among the Saronic islands, being enchanted by the beautiful waters of Angistri and the pistachio island of Aegina, our journey ends in Athens (Lavrio).

Other information

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (italian)

There is no common fund but the payment of a flat rate of €180.00 (per person for the duration of the experience) for the cost of the galley which includes:
- Breakfasts
- Lunches
- 3 dinners on board
- Non-alcoholic drinks, beer and 3 bottles of white wine
- Fuel
- Mooring fees
- Water and gas

NB The following are not included in this fee:
- additional bottles of wine, prosecco and spirits which may need to be requested before departure or purchased during the cruise in agreement with the other crew members (cost varies between €10 and €50 per person)
- the cost of the toll for the Corinth Canal to be divided among the crew members (approximately €270)

Boat details

Our sailboat is a bit like our home and is particularly comfortable and habitable, there are 3 large double cabins available to guests: an incredibly generously sized master cabin in the bow and two double aft cabins, a cabin is reserved for the crew with bunk beds, there are also 2 large bathrooms and a cozy dinette that can comfortably accommodate 8/10 people.
Outside, it offers a comfortable cockpit protected by a sprayhood and awning, seats equipped with cushions and an extendable table that allow you to enjoy lunches and dinners at anchor. The stern swimming platform is equipped with a shower with hot and cold water and at your disposal SUPs, inflatables , masks and fins.

In 2019 our sailboat underwent a refit becoming even more comfortable and welcoming:
Inside, new cushions, reading lights and USB sockets in each cabin to charge your devices.
Outside, new sprayhood, awning, cockpit cushions and very comfortable hammock and sunbathing mattresses in the bow.
Complete equipment with CD stereo, GPS, VHF, dinghy with outboard engine, autopilot, electric windlass, hot water, solar panels.
