From Zakyntos to Sicily across Ionian Sea on my catamaran

This is a real sailing cruise all-around, with a real ocean passage of 36/40 hrs across the Ionian Sea, visiting genuine villages, swimming and snorkeling in incredible clear waters, overnight in quiet bays, trekking scenic trails, exploring archeological and cultural sites. We will tackle the overnight passage with the best possible meteo forecast, taking turns, enjoying the night and the stars.

Plan

We'll meet in ZAKYNTOS Harbour on Saturday September 21st afternoon (exact location to be communicated in due time). We'll buy most of our week provisions all together, then the next day we'll set sail for our cruise. The local meteo condition will determine our week itinerary, selecting the best day and route for the Ionian passage. We'll stop in shelterd anchorages, enjoying bays and sites on the way, specifically KEFALLINA and REGGIO CALABRIA with the famous BRONZI, beautiful Greek statues perfectly restored. The navigation will end in LIPARI at the latest on Friday September 27th afternoon, with disembarkation the morning of Saturday the 28th.

Other information

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english and italian)

A young sailor is included and will help in maneuvering and cleaning. The cost of food, fuel and marinas are to be shared by all guests onboard, the kitty being formed at embarkation and managed by a volunteer or the skipper. Travel light! You need few things, good boat and trekking shoes, light wind jacket, and little else... Bring music, good mood and good recepies! Final cleaning and laundry costs add another 40€/pp.

Comfortable and surprisingly fast, my spacey catamaran has everything you really need and nothing else. 2 fridges, a rigid dinghy of 3.5m, Wi-Fi, stereo Bt. 4 doble cabin each with toilet/shower. I keep one for myself. My second has his own berth and toilet in the front.
