Have you always wanted to know more about how a yacht works? We'll prepare our GALINI for the great adventure of crossing the Atlantic! This special week in Málaga and Almeria will focus on technology, maintenance, and practical experience on board a modern bluewater yacht. You'll not just be a guest, but become part of the crew: You'll get hands-on experience, receive explanations of all the important systems, and be actively involved in the preparations for the Atlantic crossing.
We'll sail together from Málaga to Almeria and then back again – there'll be time along the way for crew life, excursions, and enjoying the Andalusian coast. The focus, however, is on everyday technical matters: maintenance, repairs, checks, and preparations are the focus. This gives you a unique insight into life and work on a long-distance yacht.
Of course, you don't have to spend the whole day tinkering: If you want, you can use the time for excursions, strolls through the city, or simply relax. We'll cover the port fees in Almeria, of course.

Highlights
- Intensive insights into the technology and maintenance of a modern blue water yacht
- Active participation in repairs, checks and preparations for the Atlantic crossing
- Sailing along the Andalusian coast: Málaga – Almeria – Málaga
- Time for excursions, crew life and enjoying Spanish hospitality
- Exchange and learning in a team, accompanied by experienced skippers and technicians

territory
The Andalusian coast, with its modern marinas and diverse facilities, is perfect for a week of technical and maintenance work. Málaga and Almeria offer the best infrastructure for all on-board work, spare parts, and service. The route between the two cities is ideal for testing the boat under sail and conducting final checks before the big crossing.

    Week & Schedule
Our adventure together begins in Málaga. After boarding and a detailed briefing, it's time to get to work: We'll inspect the rigging, sails, engine, electrical system, safety equipment, pumps, navigation systems, and much more. You'll learn how to plan maintenance work, check spare parts, and identify or troubleshoot technical problems. Anyone interested can get involved in all areas – from changing the oil to checking the life raft's functionality.
In between, we sail to Almeria, test the systems underway, and enjoy the Spanish coast. In Almeria, there's time for shore excursions, excursions, or simply enjoying crew life in the harbor. After completing the work and checks, we sail back to Málaga, where we end the week together.

    Knowledge & Practice
This week is ideal for anyone who wants to learn more about yacht technology, maintenance, and preparation for long-distance voyages. You'll get hands-on experience with all the systems on board, get hands-on experience, and ask questions. Our team will explain the procedures, offer tips, and share their experiences from many years of bluewater sailing.
    yacht
Our GALINI is a modern, fast, and comfortable Hanse 575 with four double cabins and a skipper's cabin—each with its own bathroom and electric toilet. Wi-Fi via Starlink, multimedia, air conditioning, generator, washing machine, bread maker, Nespresso machine, large solar panels, radar, AIS, watermaker, hydraulic bathing platform, and dinghy with electric motor ensure self-sufficiency and comfort. The yacht is equipped for safety, design, and performance at the highest level.

    Wind & Climate
In November, the southern Andalusian coast shows off its mild side. In Málaga and Almería, you can expect pleasant temperatures between 18 and 23°C during the day, and temperatures rarely drop below 14°C at night. Sun shines for an average of 6 to 7 hours per day, and prolonged periods of rain are rare – short showers are a possibility, but they usually pass quickly.
The winds blow predominantly from the west to south at 2–4 Beaufort (6–16 knots), providing pleasant conditions for sailing and working on deck. The water remains pleasantly warm at 19 to 21°C even in late autumn—ideal for technical checks on the hull or a dip in the sea.
Overall, the region offers an ideal climate in November for maintenance work, training and relaxed crew life on board.

Boat details

Our yacht, a Hanse, stands for a comfortable and outstanding experience. It gives you a feeling of spaciousness, a calm atmosphere and offers the freedom you need for your activities. Nevertheless, it is fast, sporty and has great sailing performance. It was designed by Volvo Ocean Race Designers and is the fastest yacht in its class.

The large cockpit offers enough space for pleasant get-togethers and long conversations with a breathtaking panoramic view. On the sun deck you can be alone, take the time to read a book or enjoy the nature around you. The skipper's cabin has its own entrance. Even if you are supported by a professional crew, you still have your privacy.

The yacht is a modern Hanse 575. It has 4 double cabins and a cabin for the skipper. Each cabin has its own bathroom with electric toilet. Starlink, multi media, air conditioning, generator, 230 V in all cabins and Nespresso coffee machine. Solar panels, radar, AIS, watermaker, washing machine, bathing platform and a dinghy with an electrically powered outboard motor. Comprehensive safety and navigation equipment as well as many other equipment that you need to be self-sufficient.
The perfect yacht that meets the highest standards of safety, design, sailing characteristics and comfort.
