High altitude crossing from the Canary Islands to Madeira and …

This plan includes a high altitude crossing of about 300 nautical miles, in which we will cross from the island of Lanzarote to Madeira.

It is a crossing through the waters of the Atlantic Ocean that can last about 3 days / 2 nights of continuous navigation, in which watches are carried out among the crew. You actively participate, getting involved in the navigation plan, review of the weather, sailing, safety, night navigation, and planning of the entire navigation.

Within the days that you are on board, we will cross the days when we have a more favorable forecast and the other days, we will dedicate them to sailing along the coast of Lanzarote or Madeira and getting to know these islands.

Plan

This is an example of a program that will depend on the final weather forecast that we have during those days:

Day 1. Boarding day. We will study the weather to define the navigation plan for the following days.
Day 2. Navigation along the coast of Lanzarote.
Day 3 - 5. High altitude navigation from Lanzarote to Madeira.
Day 6. Day to rest at the anchorage / port where we are. We can look for some anchorage in the south of the island of Madeira, such as Caniçao or visit the Desertas Islands.
Day 7. Coastal navigation through Madeira to the cliffs of the Sao Lorenço Lighthouse. You can take an excursion to the lighthouse.
Day 8. Coastal navigation to the port of Funchal.
Day 9. Day to visit the island of Maderia by land.
Day 10. Disembarkation day in Funchal.

Other information

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (spanish)

*Includes mooring on the day of embarkation and the day of disembarkation. It does not include possible moorings within the program, which the crew decides to go. The cost is divided among the crew members on board.

*This plan includes a high altitude crossing. This means that we will be sailing continuously for 3 days without seeing land. We recommend having previously made a long journey of at least 24 hours.

*Food expenses are not included. It is €15 per person per day and is paid on board.

*Tasks on board are collaborative. You cook as a team, you stand guard if necessary, and you can participate in navigation tasks.

*The itinerary may be modified due to weather conditions. An alternative itinerary agreed with all travelers will be decided.

*Published prices are per person in a double cabin. If you want to stay in another modality, such as a private cabin, you can contact us and we will inform you of the options.

Boat details

More than a sailboat, this boat is a home for us and our guests. It is cozy and with comfortable spaces.
The sailboat is 13.30 meters long. It has 4 cabins. Two of them with a double bed, one with a double bed and an additional bed, and one with 2 bunk beds.
It has a spacious living room inside, a well-equipped kitchen, and 2 bathrooms with a hot shower.

Its outdoor spaces are perfect to enjoy long days at sea. Relax in the bow hanging from a hammock, or sit in the bathtub looking for a bit of shade at lunchtime.
It is a perfect boat to sail in different conditions, learn and have fun.
