This exciting high-altitude journey will take us from the impressive volcanic islands of the Azores to the coast of Portugal.

This trip will cover approximately 850 nautical miles, navigating the waters of the Atlantic under sail. For a week, we will be surrounded only by the sea, without seeing land on the horizon, immersed in a unique and challenging experience.

This voyage will be an opportunity to develop offshore sailing skills and experience the challenge of sailing on the ocean for several days in a row.

A trip of this magnitude is not only an exciting adventure, but also an experience that will enrich us personally and prepare us for future journeys.

Plan

Boarding will be from the start day in Ponta Delgada, on the island of Sao Miguel, Azores.

Together we will study the weather, plan the journey and decide on the day of departure and the route to follow.

During the crossing, guards will be kept in pairs so that there is someone controlling the navigation at all times.

We sail according to the weather forecast, which is what determines us at all times, so there is no exact duration. We will set sail from Ponta Delgada when we have a favourable forecast from 20 September onwards and we will head towards the Portuguese coast. We will disembark in Lagos.

Other information

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (spanish)

*This is an offshore crossing of about 850 miles. This means that it can last between 6 to 8 days at sea. We ask that crew members have had prior experience of at least 48 hours on board without seeing land, so they know they can manage a week sailing in different ocean conditions.

*Flexibility regarding dates is required. There is a boarding date set, but there is no scheduled disembarkation date or exact location. This will be determined based on the weather forecast.

*Meals on board are not included. Food costs are €15 per person per day of sailing and are paid on board. Simple meals are prepared during the crossing. When we are in port, there will only be breakfast on board, the other meals are taken off the boat.

Boat details

More than a sailboat, this boat is a home for us and our guests. It is cozy and with comfortable spaces.
The sailboat is 13.30 meters long. It has 4 cabins. Two of them with a double bed, one with a double bed and an additional bed, and one with 2 bunk beds.
It has a spacious living room inside, a well-equipped kitchen, and 2 bathrooms with a hot shower.

Its outdoor spaces are perfect to enjoy long days at sea. Relax in the bow hanging from a hammock, or sit in the bathtub looking for a bit of shade at lunchtime.
It is a perfect boat to sail in different conditions, learn and have fun.
