Macaronesia is a group of archipelagos made up of the Azores, Madeira, the Wild Islands, the Canary Islands and Cape Verde.

Now you can sail on a sailboat for a week touring part of this place. Specifically, we will depart from Funchal, on the island of Madeira, later visiting the Deserted Islands and the Wild Islands until we finish our tour on the Canary Island of Lanzarote.

Sailing through these volcanic areas, with a perennial spring climate and rich flora and fauna, will allow you not only to enjoy the peaceful life on board, but you will also be able to carry out additional experiences such as the following:

- Visit various Nature Reserves.
- Discover remote sanctuaries in the sea.
- Watch cetaceans from privileged places.
- Observe pelagic birds typical of these places.

On board we will have the presence of a renowned marine biologist who will inform us at all times about the areas of geological interest, as well as the birds and cetaceans that we see.

Plan
Stage 1

We will meet in Marina Funchal (Madeira), where we will make the relevant presentations with the organizers of the trip, the skipper and the rest of the crew, before proceeding to settle in our cabin of the sailboat. From Funchal we will sail 20 nautical miles until we reach the Desertas Islands. We will make the crossing in semi-rigid boats that will give us the opportunity to closely observe the wide marine fauna that this area presents, including cetaceans and seabirds.

Stage 2

We will return to Funchal not without missing the opportunity to enjoy a good rest and a dinner on board, in which we will taste the fabulous local cuisine accompanied by a good wine. Our next destination will be the Wild Islands, located 150 nautical miles from the area. It will therefore be a high altitude navigation in which we can learn more about the world of sailing and, of course, continue to see the eclectic marine fauna of the area, about which our skipper-guide will inform us and detail all kinds of curiosities .

Once we arrive at Islas Salvajes, we will anchor in Bahía Grande and carry out a guided visit to this area. The archipelago is made up of three small islands divided into two large groups, which are separated by about 10 nautical miles. Today it is a Natural Reserve as a bird sanctuary and its waters have also been declared a Marine Reserve.

Stage 3

After a well-deserved rest, we will sail towards Canarian territory, specifically towards the Chinijo archipelago, on a 130-mile journey where we will also have the opportunity to spot large cetaceans. Once the navigation is complete, we will be able to visit the island of Alegranza, an uninhabited island where we will have the presence of precious birds such as the Eleonor hawks, ospreys, shearwaters and padella. We will also go to Graciosa Island, a compendium of absolute beauty that will help us contemplate Canarian nature in all its splendor.

After these interesting visits, we will travel the 20 miles that separate us from Lanzarote. In this journey where we will practice astronomical navigation with sextant, without the use of technologies, imitating the style of the ancient sailors. Finally, we will moor in Marina Lanzarote (Arrecife), ending this spectacular week.
