Sailing on a two-week sailboat through the Northern Aegean Islands, embarking on Rafina and ending our journey in Athens.
Starting from Rafina, we will go to Calcis. Although our plan is conditioned by the schedule of the local bridge, we will have the opportunity to anchor before and after crossing and overnight on board.
We will navigate the channel between Eubea and Attica, reaching the Espóradas archipelago. There we will see Skiathos, a green island whose pine forests reach the coast, forming one of the most beautiful islands that can be found in this country. Also Skopelos, whose Venetian churches and fortress put the architectural point to a place also full of green for its vineyards and olive trees. Finally, we will visit Alonnisos, the habitat of the monk seal, an island that still retains some virginity.
We will continue our journey sailing 60 miles to reach the three northern peninsulas, in the Chalkidiki region. We will have the opportunity to anchor in Diaporos before continuing eastbound and surrounding Mount Athos. After passing through Kavala, we will arrive at Thassos, one of the most important places that bathes the Aegean. This town is a curious but beautiful mix of modernism and antiquity. After that we will go south and see Limnos, cradle of the Amazons, and of course Lesbos, a paradise place separated from Turkey by the Mytilini Strait.
Arriving in Andros, we will have Athens just 80 miles to put an end to this crossing.
