One-week route through the Ionian Islands of Greece, sailing aboard a comfortable sailboat, and with a cook on board!

On Saturday we meet at 5:00 p.m. in the port of Nidri (Lefkada Island).

As the final route will depend largely on the wind and other factors, the route we have planned goes through several islands. Lefkada, Meganisi, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Kastos and Kamalos stand out. In all of them we will find beautiful coves, charming towns and unique corners that will make this trip unforgettable.

On Friday afternoon we will return to the port and at night we will have dinner one last time in a restaurant on the island of Lefkada. The next day early in the morning we will leave the ship.

How is the day to day of the trip?
After having breakfast around 09:30 a.m., we sail for two hours to the next corner where we will take a bath and eat. Later, we will sail another couple of hours to the place where we will anchor, which will be a small cove or a port in a town in the area.

Throughout this area we will find calm waters with little waves, something ideal to experience a relaxed navigation, very suitable for all those who usually have a tendency to get seasick in other seas. Throughout the trip we will also have time to go on excursions.

What we intend on this trip is to sail in short sections, in order to enjoy stops where we can relax by taking a bath and looking for places that are not too crowded. The objective is to experience a relaxed journey, in which we do not depend on the clock.

    DAY 1 - Meganisi Island
On Saturday we meet at 5:00 p.m. in the port of Nidri (Lefkada island).
That same afternoon we will buy the groceries for the week and stow the purchase on board. We will check-in and distribute the cabins. Later, we will meet for the explanation about the trip and life on board. Once all the preparations are finished, on the same Saturday afternoon we start our journey heading for the island of Meganisi, which is right next door.

DAY 2 - Assos (Kefalonia Island)
We will sail to the island of Kefalonia, where we will make a stop to take a bath and eat in a cove. In the afternoon we will head to the charming town of Assos, where we will spend the night.

DAY 3 - Fiskardo (Island of Kefalonia)
On this day we will go to some beaches of Kefalonia. Later we will sail along the coast until we reach Fiskardo, one of the most popular towns among those bathed by the Ionian. In the afternoon / evening we will pay a well-deserved visit to this beautiful fishing village.

DAY 4 - Talaros (Island of Ithaca)
We will sail south through the channel that separates the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca. In the latter we will reach the port of Sami, where we will be able to land and visit the amazing Melissani lake-cave. In the afternoon we will anchor in a peaceful place in the south of the island.

DAY 5 - Kioni (Island of Ithaca)
We will coast west of Ithaca until we reach the most beautiful secluded beach with crystal clear waters to make a stop. After that, we will visit the town of Vathi, with mythical resonances for being the homeland of Ulysses, the land where Penelope waited for her husband to return from the Trojan War. At sunset we will go to the striking town of Kioni, an ideal place to spend the night.

DAY 6 - Kastos (Kastos Island)
We will continue our trip sailing to the small and lonely island of Atokos, where we can spend the day anchored in one of its coves. Later we will go to the small island of Kastos, where we will disembark to stroll through its beautiful streets.

DAY 7 - Lefkada (Lefkada Island)
We will go to the island of Kalamos, neighbor of Kastos. Then we will sail to the island of Meganisi, where we can stop in one of its intimate bays to enjoy a swim and eat. Later we will sail back to Lefkada, where we will enjoy a farewell dinner in a typical Greek tavern.

DAY 8 - End of the trip
We will leave the sailboat at 08:00 a.m.
    * The route is approximate and we will adapt to the weather and the group.

An unforgettable week. Great boat, no problem. The skipper gave us a great tour of the most paradisiacal coves of the island, always aware of where the wind came from so that navigation was comfortable and safe. And the most, the atmosphere of the ship, we became a great family. WE WILL REPEAT Roger, thank you.

  • What is the best way to get to the port of departure from Spain? Via Athens and then by bus?
    • That is an option. The other would be to fly directly to Preveza, although from Spain it is usually with a stopover.
