Have you ever wanted to cross the seas on a sailboat? Ever wanted to leave one shore with little daylight left, sail through the night and then see the sun rise somewhere else? On this adventure you will learn so much about navigation and being part of the crew as well as explore various charming towns and cities in the English Channel!

This experience is extremely laid back and flexible so you can spend your days how you choose. Mix time sailing with basking in the sun and exploring the less populated parts of the area before heading into town for a nice meal of local food. On this trip you will find that the skipper and the new people joining you on board love traveling and going on new adventures just as much as you do! The itinerary is not fixed and the plans are made according to the weather and winds just like real sailors should do!

This trip is unique because the skippers have a great focus on sustainable travel. We will limit plastics on board and collect plastic garbage as well as encourage the group to immerse themselves in the new cultures of these amazing places. Join us on an adventure where you will connect with nature and act like a local, respecting the Earth and the natives at each new spot we anchor. This wonderful experience will open your eyes to new cultures and you will leave it with new friends as well as a new outlook on travel.

You will have the opportunity to really learn to sail on this trip. This is a slightly more technical sail as we will be taking into account the tides and currents in the more complicated waters. You will learn the curriculum of the RYA Competent Crew course on this adventure so you can be an active member on board! This trip is also great preparation if you want to pass the RYA Day Skipper qualification in the future.

The Isle of Wight has a long tradition of shipbuilding and sailing, making it the perfect first stop for our trip. Take in the scenic landscapes and Victorian charm while you enjoy lunch by the water.

To get there we will sail up the beautiful Beaulieu river. The charming cottages you will see were built by the second duke of Montagu in the 18th century when it was a harbor for trading and shipbuilding. Now you can also find a maritime museum.

These are two sharp chalk stacks which guard the Solent! There is a lighthouse there, the Needles lighthouse, which was built in 1859. It is no longer manned, but it was manned for over 130 years!

Alderney is the 3rd largest of the islands in the channel. The harbors cannot accommodate us, but we will drop anchor somewhere and head ashore. The island is just 6km long so we can pretty much explore all of the ruins, bunkers and forts there on foot!

The next stop is best place to enjoy the culture of the Channel Islands. Guernsey actually prints its own Pound Sterling which cannot necessarily be used in the UK. We will check out the local pubs and enjoy all Guernsey has to offer.

We may stop into this old fishing village along the French coastline. While we are there we must stop into a boulangerie for croissants and a baguette and possibly pick up some fish in this charming village void of tourists.

This spectacular city of history faces Britain across the channel. It was once an important military port and is still protected by a breakwater that is over 6km in length, built under Napoleon. It is now the second largest artificial harbor due to these great walls build in the 19th century.

I usually fly solo when traveling, and it never occurred to me to sign up for a package tour. But I took a gamble here and they exceeded my expectations. They have somehow figured out how to get adults to buy into a sincere spirit of group adventure and camaraderie without it ever feeling forced. And obviously, the locations are beautiful, the other people are engaging, the sailing is fun (you'll grow in confidence throughout the week), and it's clear that the Dominick and his team really care about the experience they are creating. You can easily do this trip alone, with friends, or with your significant other. I'm sure I'll sail with them again.

Stop thinking about sailing with them... and just book it. You’ll love it!
Your fellow crew members are a wonderful bunch – and we had the most laid-back skipper ever to roam the Med. The scenery is amazing and varied: you’ll moor-up in a port one night amongst super-yachts then drop anchor the following night in a nearly-deserted bay. You’ll learn so much if you’ve never sailed before, but it’s all really relaxed.
I’m so glad I took the plunge – you will be too.
Maybe see you out there one day soon...

Badly organized trip, old boat not prepared with equipment for the entire crew and unprofessional skipper (untrustworthy, drinking durin the sailing, etc.).
It could have been an excellent week, it's a pity.
