Great anchorages, pristine islands, active volcanoes, fumaroles, crystal-clear water, and stunning nature are just a few reasons why the Aeolian Islands
are also so popular with sailors.

The Aeolian Islands region is captivating in its diversity; the islands couldn't be more different: In Vulcano, fumaroles and sulfur springs bubble underwater, even right next to the harbor; on Lipari, volcanic glass, obsidian, is mined, and Panarea is the party-VIP island with impressive and well-hidden luxury villas. Original and somewhat forgotten by tourism are Filicudi and Alicudi.
barren and impressive at the same time, sparsely populated.

Salina is known as the home of capers and ceramics. The most famous island is Stromboli, a very active volcano – over 900 meters high – that erupts approximately every 15 minutes, sending glowing lava boulders rolling down the northern slope. If possible, we like to observe this impressive spectacle at night – during a partially night-time cruise.

  • Plan
The starting point is Capo d'Orlando, and the marina is easily accessible by plane, train, transfer, or car. From Capo d'Orlando, we reach the Aeolian Islands in 3 to 4 hours.

We meet on Saturday from about 4 pm at the yacht, or later, depending on arrival,
Cast off is Sunday morning - after breakfast.

Our sailing trips are "active sailing" and all work on the boat is done together; as a team, we trim our yacht for a fast cruise.

    Helpful information:

Getting there: There are many good flight connections from all over Europe to Palermo and also Catania, Sicily. From there, you can easily reach the Capo d'Orlando marina, our starting point, by train or transfer.

Even with your own car, you can easily reach Palermo by ferry from Genoa or Livorno. This option is especially recommended if you want to spend a few days exploring Sicily before or after your tour, which is definitely recommended – it's well worth seeing.

Check-in on the yacht is expected to be possible from approximately 5:00 PM on Saturday (or later, depending on your arrival time). We usually use Sunday to organize the remaining details with the ship, authorities, etc.

Weather permitting, we can set sail after breakfast toward the Aeolian Islands. On most of our Sicily tours, we sail to the following islands: Vulcano, Lipari, Salina, Panarea, Stromboli, Filicudi, Alicudi, etc. (However, departures are possible).
Return after the cruise - arrival in the home port is planned for Friday afternoon or possibly early evening. You can sleep on the yacht, but you must disembark at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Saturday after breakfast.

Return journey: Since you'll be returning to your home port on Friday evening, the return flight could possibly be on Friday evening if you can book a better or cheaper flight. The yacht is moored in the "Capo d'Orlando" marina in northern Sicily – just below the Aeolian Islands.

What to bring: Light oilskins/rain and wind protection, boat shoes with light, non-slip soles, swimwear, summer clothes, a passport, teamwork skills, and a good mood, etc. We always send you further information about travel, clothing, and your yacht, etc., with your booking documents. You are welcome to bring your own fishing gear (sometimes it's worth it). A fishing license is not required for this region.

A crew kitty will be set up at the start of the trip, and this kitty will be managed by one crew member during the trip. A starting deposit of €150 per person is sufficient.
Should the crew kitty be depleted, each crew member will contribute additional funds during the trip. // However, should the crew kitty have a credit balance after the trip, this will be immediately settled at the end of the trip and refunded to the participants.
The crew kitty is used to pay for expenses incurred during the voyage, including food on board, marina fees, diesel, etc. On average, this amounts to approximately €150 per person per week.
The costs for final cleaning, bed linen, towels, dinghy with outboard motor, gas on board, etc., amount to €149 per person per week and are to be paid in cash to the skipper on board at the start of the trip. In restaurants, everyone pays for their own meals, so there's no stress when choosing what to eat. As is customary, the skipper is exempt from contributing to the crew kitty and will be provided for by the crew throughout the trip – including meals in restaurants.
The information regarding the crew kitty is non-binding and may differ considerably from actual consumption.

I've been fortunate enough to be able to turn one of my hobbies into a career. That's why I've been working full-time in the yacht charter, crewed sailing, and sailing training sectors for over 30 years. During this time, I've been able to serve thousands of guests. I'm grateful for what has been, for the most part, a wonderful time.
